I came here for an eye test and have only just got around to leaving a review. My inital appointment was with a trainee, which I didn’t mind at all. However, the appointment took a very long time, and at times it seemed like she wasn’t entirely sure which lenses to try during the test. I completely understand the length of time it takes to obtain the right glasses but at this time the individual didn't seem too sure which strength I required.
At the time I didn’t think too much of the long appointment, but when I got home and started using my new glasses, I quickly realised they didn’t feel strong enough. I found myself straining my eyes to read things like road signs, watching tv etc, which clearly wasn’t right and my older glasses seemed more sharp.
I contacted Vision Express and went into the store to explain the issue. I was told in store to call their customer service line?
I rang the next day and was then advised to come back into the store, which was quite confusing.
I also emailed customer services to raise a complaint but unfortunately never received a response.
In the end, I decided to have another eye test elsewhere as it was a lot of back and forth. At this appointment, I was informed that the prescription I had been given was incorrect and that the glasses provided were too weak and very similar to my previous prescription and they sympathised with me having to strain my eyes as it was the wrong lenses for my eye strenth. I had to purchase a completely new pair of glasses - one for the lenses and to fit right.
Unfortunately, due to this experience, I wouldn’t return.
Update to vision express - It's a shame you cannot find me on your system as my appointment was last year 18/05/25 at your Macclesfield branch. Nevertheless, I raised the issues with your customer service team at the time and was ignored. I only got around to sharing my experience as it wasn't a great one at the Macclesfield branch. Time has passed now and I ended up getting new glasses, just thought id share my experience.
