  We all know the NHS does a fantastic job of creating the illusion of a working healthcare system. And of course, we all know that in pharmacies, everyone is wonderfully polite — though tragically, they're about as competent as a chocolate teapot. But this particular pharmacy? It manages to reach truly legendary heights of slowness and incompetence. I went to pick up a prescription recently issued by the hospital. I arrived — only to find the pharmacy closed during its supposed opening hours. Brilliant. Once it finally opened, the pharmacist — the very person whose job it is to "check" the prescription — was nowhere to be found. How efficient. When he did deign to appear, he took an impressively long time to examine the prescription. I arrived at 2:50 PM and was finally allowed to leave at 3:47 PM. But oh no — they don't accept any abuse. Apparently, only they are allowed to waste people's time with impunity.

  So far my experiences there have been good. There has been a couple of times that I had questions and both the Parmacist and the assitant were helpful and kind. Yes, sometimes the wait is longer because there is only two employes helping lots of customers but overall they have been good.

  The Tesco pharmacy doesn't accept diabetic sharps, or out-of-date-medicine. Doesn't even know where you can go to do this (the answer being, by default, any pharmacy). Just shrugs shoulders. Can it even be called a pharmacy.

  A very long queue and some people arrived before we did and were still waiting after we had collected our prescription. I don't think they work in order of arrival.
