  I can’t comment on the club facilities yet as I’ve only just joined, but the tour and sign up process with Callum was great. He spent time to show me around the club and go through all of my membership options

  Great club, the gym is good, pool and spa are lovely, and the restaurant is a lot better now. I've been a member here for over 15 years, through multiple ownership changes. And I'd happily say the club is the best it's ever been overall. I would like to see a bit more control over membership numbers as it does get extremely busy to the point it's not nice at times.

  Great potential to perform up to the title they want to hold up…the reality is much dirtier and staff way more arrogant than needs to be ..massive training needed in 3-4 members of staff ..lot more cleaning inspections in areas of the club stained , full of coffee spillages, dishes not collected for hours on the tables.. people needing to move them from table to table…dreadful wi-fi particularly in the business area (which should be mandatory high speed since there’s no reception) Oh and also don’t expect your order to come with the ingredients advertised ..or the staff not to be rude and arrogant about it ..yea not good enough DL.. Way higher cleanliness needed to be in place .. oh unless you’re in the shower and the cleaner spills water on your feet..dreadful The scarcity of gym clubs with similar facilities and potential makes the management think they can wing it and people will still come..however the very thing I’m paying for this is not delivered so actually I might not ..every time I find more reasons not to return..shame they’re gambling with their customers.. Oh and yes extra towels are charged at £5 of course.. joke

  As someone that has visited multiple different David Lloyd’s this is one of the tiredest looking I’ve visited, seriously in need of a refurb, the gym ceiling has been leaking for over a year, the equipment is old and tired, better equipment at other cheaper gyms. Cracks in the walls & ceiling and dirty towels left laying around. The reformer machines have dirt and hair in them so obviously not cleaned properly. The cafe is old and gloomy. Only good thing is the spa but the whole club looks nothing like the photos advertised on the website. However new changing rooms are lovely!

  Unfortunately, I feel this gym has become much more focused on attracting new members than looking after its existing ones. The club is extremely oversubscribed, and although I usually visit at what should be a quieter time of day, I regularly find myself leaving because it is simply too busy to get on the equipment I need. The condition of the equipment is also a major issue. A large percentage of the machines are broken or poorly maintained, particularly the treadmills, with a significant number having been out of order for months. Many of the cable machines are also missing attachments, and several do not operate properly and are clearly in need of maintenance. I used to really enjoy coming here, which makes it disappointing to say that I now dread going. I have ultimately handed in my notice and will be leaving. For the price, I would expect a gym that is reasonably spacious, well maintained, clean and has functioning equipment. Unfortunately, my experience has fallen well below those expectations. If you are considering joining because you expect a quieter gym with good-quality, well-maintained equipment, I would think carefully before signing up. In fact, I have had a better experience at PureGym.
