  I had been waiting for Dotty’s return, and I’m so glad I did! From the moment we arrived, we were looked after exceptionally well. The level of service was outstanding — professional, friendly, patient, and genuinely caring. Dotty went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable, and she made the whole experience so easy and enjoyable. I truly hope her managers realise what a gem they have in their team. Dotty is an absolute asset and someone who clearly cares about her customers and takes real pride in her work. Thank you so much, Dotty, for the wonderful service. It was a pleasure to be looked after by you again!

  Came in for a worry about a splotch in my vision, got an appointment within the week where the team were incredibly thorough, ran multiple tests and eye scans involving eye drops that enlarge the pupils, the optician was very informative and quelled any worries I had about the scans and drop solution. All members of staff were professional and welcoming, and I left that day with my mind at ease.

  I’ve been going there for over 10 years and after my visit on Tuesday.. I’ll never be going back .. the customer service I received was absolutely terrible .. the optometrist was absolutely lovely but every single other member of staff was absolutely rude.. especially the guy who severed us after ..he didn’t help us pick glasses .. sat at his desk doodling on a piece of paper.. I had to approach him 3 different times to ask for help even then he stood up opened a drawer and sat back down.. told my daughter that no glasses sat properly on her face because she couldn’t wear them properly.. made her re order the same glasses after I told him she wanted new ones.. his reply but they won’t be nice at all as her lenses are so thick even tho they were realistically the exact same pair but just a different colour .. he stated out loud several times that because I had a voucher my options were non existent even tho I told him I would pay any amount for glasses she wanted . Honestly I’m absolutely gutted as my daughter was left so overwhelmed by him and his awful attitude she just ended up saying let’s just do as he wants.. not sure if it was less work for him or something but he 100 percent couldn’t not be bothered to give any sort of customer service and his attitude was disgusting. After I collect my daughters glasses I’ll never be back there And I’ll certainly tell everyone to do the same

  For four months, I kept coming back, waiting for Ms. Dorota to return to work. She is absolute perfection at what she does—highly professional, exceptionally skilled at matching the right glasses to any face, and truly helpful. She is a warm-hearted person who genuinely knows her craft. ​A few months earlier, I went there with my daughter and ended up dealing with a different optician, whom I remain unhappy with to this day. He was no help at all in choosing glasses for my daughter. Quite the opposite—he was arrogant, telling us, "Go take a look for yourselves." He provided no advice, didn't check if the frames fit properly, and simply said about the ones we picked, "Well, if you like them, I can take those." ​Ms. Dorota is a wonderful person. I wholeheartedly recommend her—she seems to be the only person working there who is thorough, honest, and truly loves what she does.

  I am absolutely appalled by the way my 87-year-old mother was treated at Vision Express in the Bon Accord Centre, Aberdeen. My mother phoned the store to arrange an eye examination after being advised by her GP to have her eyes checked. She was initially told that she was not due for her routine eye test until October, but she specifically explained that her GP had told her to attend because she was experiencing problems with her vision. On that basis, the store booked her an appointment. She attended the appointment as arranged and was already sitting in the chair having imaging/X-rays of her eyes carried out when another member of staff burst through the door and told them to stop the examination because my mother was “not due until October”. She was then told to leave the premises. My mother explained that she was experiencing LOSS OF VISION. Rather than treating this seriously, arranging for her to be assessed, or explaining that she may require urgent medical attention, she was simply told to go back to her doctor and was told, apparently without any proper examination, that “it’s a migraine”. I find this extremely concerning. This is an 87-year-old woman reporting a change/loss in her vision, who had attended because her GP had specifically advised her to have her eyes checked. The appointment had been accepted and booked with that information known. Quite apart from the way she was spoken to, I cannot understand why whether she was “due” for a routine eye test in October was considered more important than the fact that she was reporting a new problem with her sight. Being stopped midway through the appointment, told to leave and having her symptoms dismissed in this way left my mother extremely upset. I will be making a formal complaint to Vision Express regarding both the treatment she received and the apparent dismissal of a potentially significant change in an elderly patient’s vision. I would expect far better care, compassion and professionalism from an optician.
