  HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM! I’m really concerned and confused. After a trip to Florida, my husband suddenly lost a lot of hearing in one ear. His primary doctor as well as two doctors at urgent care couldn’t see the eardrum due to a blockage and after many attempts to flush it out they finally referred him to an ENT. At Villa Rica ENT, Dr. Andrist ran tests but said he saw nothing wrong and blamed age—and that nothing could be done. The other doctors saw fluid behind his eardrum.and a blockage but he claimed there was nothing. Later, another ENT immediately spotted a hardened earplug and skin growing over the eardrum which was blocking the eardrum and they removed it—no more hearing issues! Four other medical professionals all saw the problem, but Dr. Andrist missed it? I could look in my husband‘s ear with a flashlight and see it so this is very alarming to me. I was also unsettled by his disheveled appearance and awkward demeanor. Wearing clothing that’s two sizes too big—that are dingy and dirty? He was awkward and all over the place! I brought my son to him years ago and he was wonderful, but sadly something seems to have changed.

  Misdiagnosed twice. Told I had “acid reflux” and was brushed off was seen elsewhere and it was really subglottic stenosis.
