Worst hospital I have ever been to. I was having a heart attack, was doubled over in pain, but because my EKG showed no abnormality, the nurses ignored me. I begged the nurses to give me something for the pain but they ignored my cries for 30 straight minutes, talking and laughing at the nurses’ station. When my husband showed up a nurse ran into the room and told him she had checked on me every five minutes – a boldfaced lie. On my husband’s insistence, the nurse took another EKG. Finally the second EKG showed an abnormality and they rushed me into surgery. The doctor gave me a minimal 10mg of fentanyl. Protocol dictates he continue giving me doses of Versed until I am out of pain. He ignored me. He just went on with the operation with me screaming and crying in pain, in a live operation inside my body, with no mercy, and did not allow pain medication until he was done 45 minutes later. Even then, he only gave me a child’s dose of 10 mg. It’s a terrifying thing to suddenly realize you are not a patient – you’re a victim and a tied-down prisoner in excruciating pain, with no one listening or caring. I am still suffering from PTSD and flash-backs. If I ever have chest pain again, I’ll insist on going the extra 20 minutes to Gwinnett hospital.

I was having severe chest pain, I was there for 5 hours before being seen by a Dr it was crazy my bp was high I will say the staff was over runed with patients on Tuesday Apr 7th afternoon every seat was taken and thy didnt have enough wheel chairs for everyone even the dr was upset because he put in a order for meds for me and it took the hospital 4 hours to get me to the back so could get my meds it was really bad the bright spot was Dr Chau and Nurse Derrick they showed so kindness aand caring in my need they help me feel better... my ordeal lasted 8 hours they definitely need a better system of handling patients maybe a app on our phones letting people know there wait times and dont let real sick people wait the longest times where we are in serious pain.
please consider this it may help alot of people in the future.......

I was moved a round fairly quickly. Everyone did their jobs Efficiently And effectively. My complaint came at the end when I didn’t hear my name be called and I was taking out of the system before I can receive a knee brace. It wouldn’t be an issue if I wasn’t in a serious pain however I’m a veteran and a mass pain very well and also several occasion inside of the hospital and outside of the hospital I almost fell. It was never offered a wheelchair. When I went back to the desk to inform them, I did not receive a knee brace. he told me there was nothing I can do despite being told by the nurse practitioner that they will give me one before I leave. There was no effort to be made to even try just told me that there was nothing he can do for me and continue to ignore me until I left. I honestly was gonna give them a three even after this, but I’m gonna knock it down till two because that was trash.

Most of the staff was rude & acted like they didn't really even care about my well-being or wellness. I ended up leaving the hospital feeling worse than when I got there. The lady they connected me to the intravenous drop bag made me lose at least about 2 pints of blood out of my arm when she disconnected the IV. I had already been sitting in the facility for over 5 hours plus. So, I just left & didn't even complain but the witness I had there with me is the one who told me not to go and say anything. I felt way weaker by the time I made it home, & the complications I had before I got to Eastside Piedmont worsened.

I came to the ER because I cut my finger with electric hedge clippers. I didn't want to go (I have an adversity to being stuck with needles). The cut was deep and bleeding more than a bandage could control. I got up enough courage to go get the stitches I knew I needed. I checked myself in at the emergency desk. I waited about 20 minutes and my name was called. I was immediately taken in by Robert, a male nurse practitioner. He asked several questions, examined my cut-up finger tip, and explained the course of action he was going to take. Which included needle sticks (for numbing the finger), waiting 10 minutes for it to numb, cleaning the gagged cut, and sticking it. I was as nervous as I could be. He had to stick my finger twice (one on each side of the base (near the knuckle) to numb the whole finger). My body tingled from fright and the pain of the needle being inserted twice into my finger. It hurt!!! After about 10 minutes my finger went numb. Robert (the nurse practitioner) began by cleaning my whole hand and especially the inside of the cut of my finger. In the middle of the actual cut the skin was thin and very difficult to stich as the outter sides of the cut were deep and straight cut. The stitching took about 15 minutes. I was asked by the discharge nurse several questions received my ordered care instructions and prescription. I was taken care of in less than 2 hours. My care was efficient (not painless until after the shots of novacain were administered) my anxiety was so high upon arrival but lessened after the novacain took affect. I am well pleased with the efficiency and care I received. Thank you 😊 so much for everyone involved in my experience at Piedmont Eastside Emergency Hospital.
