Dr. Mefferd and his staff are wonderful. Ever go to the doctor and feel rushed out or feel like the doctor is ignoring your concerns or not listening to you? That could not be FARTHER from what you’ll experience at The Physicians Spine & Rehab. Dr. Mefferd listens better than any other doctor I’ve ever been to. He’s typing on his computer the entire time (like every other doctor in 2025, half his job is documenting EVERYTHING, which I’m sure gets super annoying!) but he must be the world’s best multitasker… because he’s still a *very* active listener, paying attention to everything you say and asking questions about it as you go. If you run into an issue with your prescriptions, his office staff is super helpful and willing to pass messages back to Dr. Mefferd and his staff immediately, meaning most issues get resolved by the end of the day. I love The Physicians so much that I chose to continue to go to that practice even when I had insurance they didn’t take. It was worth paying out-of-pocket for a year’s worth of visits because Dr. Mefferd is just THAT good of a doctor. My chronic pain condition is notoriously difficult to manage, but Dr. Mefferd didn’t throw his hands up and say “you know what? you’re too complicated and you’re on your own!” like other doctors have. Instead, he was incredibly patient with me, and for a few months, I saw him every couple of weeks as we nudged this medicine one way and that medicine another way. It took a lot of trial and error, but we eventually landed on a combination of 5 meds that gave me my life back. I no longer feel like pain is controlling my everyday decisions, and although the condition is permanent and the pain will never *completely* go away, Dr. Mefferd has worked diligently to make sure it’s more background noise than pain I can’t live with.

I love this practice ! Dr. Mefferd is very knowledgeable, compassionate, and I never have to wait for my appointment 😁 The nurses and front desk staff are cheerful and friendly. I often leave in a better disposition than when I arrived. I would recommend this practice to anyone dealing with acute or chronic pain if you want to get your life back !
