Those of us who have been around the gym for a while really like what Onelife Fitness has turned into, and Justine has a lot to do with that. She is easy to talk to, welcoming, and has become a well known face around the club and in the community.
I see her all the time out on the floor resetting and straightening up the studios between classes. It shows she takes pride in the place and keeps a high standard, which does not go unnoticed.
I have been to other Onelife locations, but this one stands out. The facilities are top notch, and the group fitness schedule is impressive, especially for a club that has only been open since late December. She is always encouraging people to jump into a class and give it a try, which has definitely helped get more members involved.
As a regular, I am glad she is here. She has made a real difference in the club.
Gym is awesome but what’s with the trainer Nick being aggressive towards everyone? On Tuesday I saw him working out and someone walked up to him to ask what he was hitting (I guess they knew each other) and he stood up saying “I don’t like you walking up to me like that, I don’t need you in my business” Guy that came up to him was not aggressive at all and was smiling. I think this is an issue that needs to be fixed as the environment feels hostile and I’ve seen the aggressiveness a bit. In Another incident a guy was joking with him asking if he was “sizing him up” and Nick goes on to talk about how much better looking and stronger pound for pound he is compared to the guy. Just Unnecessarily rude and unneeded.
I love everything this gym offers however, things could use improvement. I’ve been at this gym since it opened in December and I’ve noticed a lot of growth and equipment options. However as a woman I’ve faced some difficulties, the locker room floor is often soaking wet in random spots. Especially by the sauna and pool area. It’s no reason members should not dry off to avoid walking in the sauna soaking wet, leaving water on the floor to the point it pools up. And leaving bare cheek pool water and sweat mixed wet spots on the bench. It’s unsanitary and nobody’s bare cheek and front end should be touching anything. Especially when the sauna cannot be cleaned the same way as gym equipment. And now everyone is just sitting in each others nether region front and back end sweat. The leaping over the pool water left on the floor. The pool water makes the sauna stink as well. And leaving so much water outside the door it puddles up. It’s hazardous, unsanitary, and lazy, there should be more signs to hold members accountable. The pool is not a shower, Idc how clean someone thinks they are, everyones body fluid is dirty. It’s takes less than 2 minutes to dry off, then use one towel for your hair and one for the body. The new equipment is very nice (although i think the booty builder equipment should face the rail and not the crowded area). I don’t wanna struggle on my glute gains with all my jelly tooted towards the whole gym. Or thrusting the air facing everyone on the turf….its a awkward vulnerable state. Also lot of equipment is directed towards a taller group, as a 5’3 woman i struggle to get the max out of some leg machines due to my height. Specifically all the hip add/abductors are all for way longer legs. Except for the weird rounded foot one, which lowkey still is too long to target the right muscles. I struggle to grab mats more than I’d like to admit they’re lowkey super high. Oh & the paper towels are often empty but (they’re doing better on that). WiFi sucks too unfortunately but the service is bad in the whole area to be fair.

I do recommend OneLife Fitness Macon in some respects, but I am very disappointed by the inconsistent enforcement of their pool policy. We joined in part because this location presented itself as family-friendly. There is signage in the pool area, and information online, indicating that children are welcome to swim with a swim diaper. Based on that, it seemed reasonable to expect that policy would be honored.
However, we were later told that kids are not allowed to swim at all, which directly contradicts what is advertised. The issue is not just the rule itself, but the fact that the location appears to be choosing which policies to enforce despite corporate messaging, posted signs, and online information saying otherwise.
When a business advertises one thing and then tells members something completely different in person, it creates confusion and feels misleading. Families make membership decisions based on the amenities and policies that are presented to them. If an individual location is going to enforce a different rule, that needs to be made clear upfront instead of leaving members to find out after they have already joined.
I hope OneLife Fitness Macon either honors the policies it advertises or updates its signage and website so members are given accurate information from the start.
