I had previously bought glasses at a LensCrafters in another state. I visited Mario at this Gainesville, Georgia location to get the notepads adjusted and was treated as if I was their most valuable customer ever. Spotlessly clean store and GREAT service.

Everyone at this location was super nice, friendly and super helpful. Dr Skeete is always so thorough, explains everything and never rushes you. MJ was the most kind, patient, and nicest person with help selecting glasses. Great experience all the way around.

First and foremost, this review is based on my experience with the Dr. onsite, not the rest of the LensCrafters employees.
I went in to get my glasses and prescription checked. I visited another location in October and felt the glasses I received were not correct. I scheduled an Eye Exam here to get things checked. Upon entering the store, the LenCrafter manager helped me try to figure out the issue with the glasses. Once we decided I may need another exam, I proceeded with my appointment. I went through the same procedure as usual… eyes measured, got the puff of air, and waited for the rest of my Exam. When I actually saw the Dr. the only thing she did was compare my old prescription and new one. She claimed my new one was better, but I’m not sure how because she never checked anything. I told her that my old and new looked basically the same. She literally never checked anything and sent me back out with the same prescription I had questions about. She did seem rather In a hurry as is my luck.
So basically I paid the full exam price out of pocket, and was told my current prescription was correct, even though she never did the exam. After telling her my issue several times I was told that’s just the way it is.
The manager ordered me new lens to check if they may be the problem, but they ordered the same prescription I had questions about to start with so I assume I will have the same issue. However, the manager was going off of what the Dr. said, which was that my new prescription was “way better” even though she never checked it AND I told her it basically looked the same as my old one.
In summation, the staff other than the Dr. was very helpful and friendly. The Dr. on the other hand literally did nothing but charge me full price for 1/2 an exam. If she is doing this with other people then this location will not be there very long. I see lots of great reviews, and for the LensCrafters side, I agree, they were great!
Again, this review is based on my experience with the Dr.
I will update this review if the rest of my exam is completed and my issues resolved.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
