This place is a joke been here 30 minutes to do a drug test with nobody in front of me
1. Do the online appointment scheduler. It's much faster and they're already prepared for what you need. You can walk in, but this is better.
2. Look online and see what they can actually treat. This is an urgent care, not a specialist or your family doctor or an ER. Don't expect them to be able to fix everything.
3. I came to get an abscess lanced and they were amazing. Went from feeling like I had a golf ball made of acid shoved under layers of skin to feeling practically normal when walking out. But they also know their limits. They could lance it, but they couldn't treat the overall skin condition that caused it. They can relieve pain, but they can't fix the problem. Which is fine, that's all I wanted, because I had realistic expectations of what they could do. They even called me back after I left to mention I should follow up with my specialist about an odd vital sign.
4. Also everyone was very friendly, took time to explain what they were doing, and catered to what I was physically able to do with pain limitations.
I booked an appointment and did the paperwork online. It was super simple! I could upload my insurance information through photos and there was no complicated check in process when I arrived. I was seen by a very nice female doctor. She had a fantastic demeanor and answered all my questions. I needed refills for some medication, as I’m not quite settled with a Primary doctor m. She had them immediately sent to my pharmacy after our visit! AND what I love is that they will be able to see me for monitoring in the future. I am definitely going back to see her and would recommend American Family Care in Fort Oglethorpe. The entire staff was great! It was a very positive experience and this coming from someone who doesn’t like having to go see a doctor.

Came here on a Saturday. One person in the lobby. I know people don’t want to work on the weekends but when you are scheduled to, act like it’s a normal day. Came in for possible flu/cold stuff and waited an hour. The chairs in the lobby are nasty, the material peals off. The staff was watching their phones and laughing behind the window. Don’t bring your kids here if they are sick. They will have to wait a long time. Unprofessional

After spending a few hundred dollars and two visits trying to get help for breathing issues, I’m leaving this review so others can make an informed decision. The service of the nurses, front staff, and wait time didn't bother me. They were attentive and the wait wasn't that bad
What did bother me was how rushed both visits felt once I actually saw the doctor. During the first visit, the exam lasted less than five minutes. The doctor listened to my chest briefly, suggested a couple of diagnoses that didn’t really line up with how I was feeling, and told me to take over-the-counter allergy medication. I followed that advice and waited two weeks, but nothing improved.
When I came back for a follow-up, the visit felt even shorter. I explained that I was still experiencing shortness of breath. I mentioned in my first visit that it can feel similar to anxiety, but that I didn’t feel anxious. The response when I came for my follow up was that "It's time for you to see a psychiatrist." That was surprising and frustrating, especially since no additional evaluation or testing was done and my words were twisted to diagnose a problem they could easily get out of their office.
I also asked about chest X-rays, particularly because “respiratory testing” is listed as a service in the exam room. At first I was told they couldn't do chest X-rays, then it changed to the X-ray tech only being available a few days a week. There was no explanation of why imaging or other testing wouldn’t be helpful in my case.
In the end, I was handed a list of local hospitals accepting new patients and sent on my way. For both visits combined, I was charged around $360.
I understand doctors have much more training than I do, and I’m open to being told what is wrong with my body by a trained professional. But the lack of explanation, the extremely short visits, and the feeling that my concerns were already dismissed made this a costly and terrible experience right around the holidays.
I feel that because I was self-pay and they couldn't bill an insurance company for inflated prices they didn't want to give me any tests. This is completely my opinion based on my experience
I’m posting this so others know what to expect. I am feeling taken advantage of and $360 short for allergy meds I could have gotten at the pharmacy and a list of hospitals I could have gotten off google.
