I thought they had learned. In early 2022, long after the efficacy of the paper masks were debunked and every reasonable person knew it, Piedmont Heart continued to mandate that you not only wear a mask, but that it be pulled up over your nose. A nurse would scold you like a child if you tried to breathe, even though this was an office full of heart patients.
Well, I showed up today 3/12/2026, for a routine appointment and not only was I asked a battery of questions about covid, I was handed a paper mask and told that, once again, it was Piedmont policy that I wear it. So, I left, informing the staff that my mask-wearing days were over.
How on earth can I trust these people with my heart if they belligerently insist on something akin to a voodoo rattle?
This makes me question everything. Is the device currently in my body even necessary? Was it needed at the time, or was it another fad with no real value like these silly paper masks? It's been 20 years and my ICD has never fired. After a brief stint where my heart function was low, I've been back to normal ever since. Why was my life altered in profound ways? Why are there wires running through arteries and embedded in chambers of my heart now? Was that really necessary?
And what about the medications that I've been taking all this time? Are they life-saving, or am I an annuity for Novartis and Glaxo Smith Kline?
I should have fired you the first time. Then and now, you are engaged in propaganda at best, witchcraft at worst. I won't make that mistake again.
Sorry, folks, blind trust died six years ago in a shutdown school wearing one of your silly little masks. I'm done.
