Dropped off prescription at 7 pm. Wasn't ready until the next morning. Had to suffer all night with no medicine. Should've went to Walgreens.

Had my vet call in a prescription for a particular drug to halt seizures in an emergency situation. Received text from Kroger saying it would need to be special ordered and would be in at a specific date. I waited patiently for 3 days -- hoping I would not need it beforehand (with another trip to the vet for hospitalization as the backup plan). I called on the date and around the time it was promised to be ready, was told it was not available as promised, was on backorder and that they did not know when it would be available -- basically pushing it off on 'their supplier' stating it could be another several days, but maybe it could be sooner ... in other words, they just did not know (sounds like a vendor management issue, IMO). I was appalled that Kroger did not have the common courtesy to contact me and that I had to find this out by calling them just before heading out to pick up the prescription at the promised time. I hung up, called my prescribing vet and left a VM as it was after hours asking them to give me a copy of the prescription to be filled "anywhere". I then decided to call Kroger back -- to see if I could come and pick up a copy of the prescription and take it to another pharmacy just so I could have the security of knowing I had the emergency drug on hand if needed. I was told they could not do that. But I COULD have them call it in to another pharmacy if I found one that had the drug.
I did find a pharmacy who had the drug on my very first call to the CVS where I have my own personal prescriptions filled. They offered to call Kroger for me. Hopefully they will be able to get through and I will get the meds I need to treat an emergency seizure situation for my poor pup!
And FYI regarding the Kroger Savings Club -- I had joined the KSC and paid the 'family price' ($72 annually) in order to include my dog in the plan which was the primary purpose for joining (as I have chosen to get my own meds elsewhere). I've found that save for the one single drug (Levetiracetam/generic Keppra) for which I originally joined KSC -- EVERYTHING else I've checked for my dog who needs a variety of meds is a LOWER PRICE (no need to join KSC) through GoodRX simply using coupons at Kroger or other pharmacies!
It's clearly important to shop around based on the individual drug, dosage, etc. -- particularly when you are looking at a 'lifelong' meds situation as I am with my pup. Prices range a truly shocking amount. And take what Kroger texts you as to availability/delivery timing with a grain of salt. It's just a maybe. And you may or may not get contacted if they are unable to deliver.

I recently moved to Dunwoody and initially used CVS in Chamblee. Decided to move my prescriptions over to Kroger after CVS misinformed me multiple times that my prescription was filled via text but had to wait for them to fill it while I was in the store, among a few other hiccups.
This Kroger always goes over and beyond to help me. Once, a pharmacist used their own personal app to get me a coupon. They always greet me warmly, seem happy to see me and move quickly to fill my RX. I’ve never experienced better customer service at a pharmacy!

I was going there to get a flu shot and some other shots that I needed for my GC medical exam. The woman at the front was extremely unfriendly and the two pharmacists were not helpful at all. They didn't provide an explanation of why they can't give me the other shots until I asked 4 times. Then they said I needed a prescription for all of the other ones (which btw is not true). I waited for a long time until they finally gave me the shot. Not because they were busy but because they were standing around and no one felt responsible to do anything.
