I rarely take the time to write long reviews, but my experience at Piedmont Heart of Douglasville was so appalling that I feel obligated to warn others. Save yourself the headache and go literally anywhere else.
It started before I even walked through the door. The communication and phone skills at this facility are non-existent. When I called to discuss a scheduling conflict because of my work, the staff was incredibly rude and dismissive, acting as if I was inconveniencing them by having a job. I should have taken that as a red flag, but I decided to give them a chance.
When I arrived, the office itself was visibly dirty and poorly maintained. I was willing to overlook the grime just to get my appointment over with, but the lack of professionalism and sheer nastiness I encountered next was the breaking point.
I was called back by a tech named Greg Steels. From the jump, he had a terrible attitude. He refused to allow my wife to come to the back with me for my echocardiogram, claiming the "room was too small" and that there was no space for her to stand or sit without being in the way. This was a complete and total lie. When we walked in, the room was massive—easily 30x50 feet. There was more than enough room for her to stand completely out of the way while I had the procedure done.
When I pointed out the obvious size of the room and told him I would feel much more comfortable with my wife present, Greg became hostile and combative. He snapped at me, stating it was "policy" and she simply couldn't be there. His tone was incredibly disrespectful. I eventually asked him to stop the echocardiogram so we could address his attitude and the conflicting information he was giving me.
I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor, and Greg flat-out refused. He told me I was "welcome to leave" if I didn’t like it. So, that’s exactly what I did. I got up, put my shirt back on, and walked out. To make matters worse, when I tried to find a manager on my way out to report this behavior, she refused to even speak with me.
The level of "ghetto" behavior and unprofessionalism at this location is staggering. They do not care about patient comfort, they lie to your face, and they protect their rude staff instead of addressing legitimate concerns. I strongly recommend that NO ONE goes to this facility. They are unprofessional, nasty, and a disgrace to the Piedmont name.
