I don’t typically write reviews—especially not ones tied to my name, but I felt it was important to share my experience for anyone going through something similar.
My husband and I were so hopeful after our first appointment with the RBA team. We felt heard and valued, and we left that first visit with straightforward information that helped us logically decide our next steps. After several more appointments and tests, we decided to move forward with IUI.
We entered our first cycle feeling optimistic, even knowing the statistical odds. Unfortunately, our first round was not successful, and afterward we learned that some of my hormone levels were essentially zero, making it impossible to sustain a pregnancy. Despite this, we immediately began another IUI cycle without any additional testing or monitoring to ensure my hormone levels were improving.
Sadly, the second round was also unsuccessful. This time, my hormone levels barely rose, even with a suppository. When I was called with my results, I was told there wasn’t any additional testing that could be done and that “this is probably just part of your problem.”
Infertility and trying to conceive is an emotional, isolating, exhausting, and expensive journey. Throughout this process, my husband and I have not felt supported or cared for. Our concerns were brushed off, and months went by without any face-to-face contact with our actual doctor. We haven’t heard from them since receiving our most recent results. There’s been no guidance, no empathy, and no follow-up. The nurses just told us “let us know when you’re ready to begin your next cycle.”
I highly encourage anyone considering RBA, or any fertility clinic, to do your research and make sure you feel truly supported by your care team. We went in hopeful and trusting, only to leave feeling more confused and broken than when we began.
