I’m a member almost 2 years for now, I glad they are keep upgrading the equipments, and the staff is very nice. Most of the showers won’t work, if they are under maintenance takes weeks to fix, same with Sauna too. This is one of the busiest and expensive gym but the maintenance is not that great. I know everything needs some maintenance but it should not be that long to fix.

It’s a great gym with a lot of equipment variety, however the cleanliness and equipment maintenance needs a lot of improvement. I know it’s the patrons responsibility to clean the equipment after each use but it seems like it rarely gets a deep clean by staff. It also seems like my husband gets sick every 2 weeks since he started going here. That’s really his problem lol but I do notice the facility can be pretty gross.
I’ll start with the good by saying the staff is extremely friendly. The individual who signed my husband and I up for our membership was really nice. When my husband and I canceled our membership, it was not processed correctly and we got charged for an additional three months when we went back into correct the issue they took care of it no problem and we’re very helpful.
Now, for the reason we canceled. When we signed up, we were told that the gym is usually very busy between 3-6 pm. My husband and I were planning to come in late in the evenings after work and were told there was hardly anyone ever there around that time. Sadly, that was not the case. We were constantly waiting for machines. The clientele around that time is primarily young high school kids who would rather sit on the machines on their phones or socialize and show off rather than actually work out. My husband and I usually work out for about 50 minutes every day and our 50 minute routine often ended with us leaving after almost 2 hours and being more frustrated and irritated than we were when we got there.
Considering switching gyms… I joined July of last year and I swear it’s something every week with this place. Equipment broken for days constantly, no towels, Sauna broken, showers broken or no hot water. I chose this gym because of the convenience of proximity but now I have to drive 20+mins to get services I paid for that are unavailable for who knows how long at the location close to me. ***Dear Management, please don’t respond to my review with your AI generated response unless you are going to credit my account for the inconveniences over the last 6 months, thanks!
In late 2022, I joined One Life Vickery after my retirement. I started with the Silver Sneakers classes. I was old, overweight and out of shape. The classes were a challenge, but the instructors (Kelleye Barnes and Tanya Jane) were awesome and caring. After a while, I was getting stronger, so I tried all the regular classes such as body pump, body combat, yoga, barre and zumba. I stuck with barre and zumba (with great teachers like Ann Meadows, Allyson Zea and Anna Boaz). Both classes are very difficult, but I kept trying and kept improving. Then I wanted more. I wanted to not get hurt and increase my strength to ensure longevity and my independence, so I hired a trainer (Ann Meadows) with whom I have trained for over a year and a half now. She is amazing and encourages me continuously. I am stronger than I have ever been. I had a goal to do 3 sets of 12 chest presses (45 lbs) by my 70th birthday.... well, yesterday I benched 60 lbs and my birthday is months away!
Since joining, I have lost 25 pounds and have gone down 3 sizes between smart dietary changes and working hard.
The staff is amazing at One Life. The front desk (like Antonita), the instructors, the other trainers. I am so grateful I joined! It has changed my life. Thank you, One Life!
