I went to Piedmont Emergency room because I was in a lot of pain and having excess bleeding. We arrived around 10pm and I was released at around 7:30 am. They were not able to tell me what was going on and said I need to see an ob/gyn. To have someone wait this long due to the complications I'm still having is ridiculous. I went there for help only to be turned away, yet you'll bill my insurance as if you helped me. I will be filing a grievance with my insurance for lack of quality care. From my understanding the following procedure is how it's supposed to work: 1. A patient goes to the ER about a health issue. 2. Patient completes registration if they're able to do so. 3. Vitals are constantly being taken to ensure the patient is stable. 4. Blood work is performed and analyzed. A urine test maybe performed as well. All appropriate labs are performed and ordered. 5. A patient will be placed into a room. 6. Care teams are working diligently to find out what's wrong with the patient and to develop a treatment plan. 7. From there, the patient should be informed as to what is going on and what can be done to help. 8. After the treatment plan is completed and the patient is back to normal the patient should be released or discharged or the patient should be told their next steps to follow. This Newton Piedmont failed to assist me. I've worked in Healthcare for many years and to be told by Dr. Hall after waiting to see him 8 hours there's not anything he can do or he doesn't know what's going on. As a doctor, if you're unable to determine what's wrong then you need to a) order more testing b) consult with your colleagues or other medical professionals to figure it out c) once an appropriate diagnosis has been made then you develop a treatment plan. You don't turn a patient away saying I don't know what's wrong. Then the nerves to say you can do self-pay and be seen faster. Why would I do self-pay when I'm fully insured? I knew I should have went somewhere else when you all were more concerned about my insurance and registration versus my health. I will be escalation this to the appropriate channels.

I had a great experience at your emergency room center! The reason for visiting the ER is that I had severe shortness of breath due to COPD/Asthma/Allergies! As soon as the center knew of my conditions, your staff rolled a wheelchair out to my vehicle, hooked me up to an oxygen tank and took me to check in! Immediately after check in they performed an EKG, inserted a portal and then performed a chest X-ray! Afterwards they took me to an Exam Room to perform vitals and gave me a breathing treatment to include a slow drip magnesium sulfate in water and methyIPREDNISolone sodium succinate solution to open up my chest in order to breath normally! Lee Ann was my nurse who had the best bedside manner's, she was so very friendly, thorough, knowledgeable and the best caring nurse! I was very fortunate to have her care for me! Kenneth, he performed my breathing treatment and he too was phenomenal! Again, I was very fortunate to have him caring for me as well! And of course Dr. Lorenzo Leon was the “bomb”! He too was very concerned of my situation, he was very knowledgeable, thorough and caring doctor! I could not of asked for a better team to provide the best of care during my emergency situation! All of them together got me back to normal and back on my feet within 5 hours! If I ever had another emergency situation, I will be back at your facility! From the bottom of my heart, thank you ALL for everything you did for me but most of all, thank you for loving your job in order to take care of patients like myself! Keep up the good team work!!!

I went in for severe pelvic pain. I am a cancer patient also. I was there three hours or better. They did blood work, X-rays. And CT. I was put in one of the er beds, did not see doctor, or nurse got no help. I told them I was leaving. By the time I started to leave the doctor came in and ask if my problem was a uti! I had already told them it was more serious than that. And because of the time I layed there hurting the nurse thought I just wanted something For pain. I had plainly told them I wasn't and was looking for reason and something to remedy the problem not a temporary pain pill!! So I left soon after. People were lined up in beds in the hall. They was even treating one lady in the hall.

I had the most diligent and Urgent Care I have ever had in an emergency room! Once I arrived things moved very quickly as soon as I was triaged. the wait time was so fast. everyone was very friendly, helpful and explained things so that both myself and my husband could understand what was happening. although I was admitted to emergency room number for and had to spend the night, I'll test were conducted the very next morning and by 6:00 p.m. I was cleared to go home. I came in with chest pains and my blood pressure was 205 over 85. I could not have gotten better care. I am very impressed with the new staff and the way Dr Hatchet runs this machine! every physician that I saw was friendly courteous and concerned for my health. I even received a phone call this morning checking to see if I was okay if I had any questions or if there was anything that needed to be explained in more detail. I highly recommend Newton Piedmont ER to anyone who has an urgent situation and needs help immediately.

I arrived at Piedmont Newton Hospital on March 30, 2026 around 11:30 PM once I checked in I was notified by other patients they have been there since 1 PM and had not been seen. I also spoke with a young lady who had been there since 6:30 PM and had not been seen. I went to the front at registration and asked what the wait time was. She stated they were extremely behind and it would be a while, lots of healthcare workers were sitting around the front area, making comments like wow this is a lot of people and we don’t have the staff to cover it. I did not go back to triage. I was never seen. I asked her to cut my bracelet off and that I would be leaving. Therefore, my insurance should not be charged.
