My dad arrived to the ER on 3/18 very ill. They determined he had a UTI that turned septic, and he needed to be admitted and treated immediately. There was a mixup, and it took them over 12 hours to finally administer antibiotics, to which they basically said “oops”. He was discharged still very sick, with a fever, a still active sepsis infection, and a high heart rate. The nurse hooked him up to his antibiotics this morning before he left and could be discharged, and within several seconds the meds began pouring out of his iv at the taped area on his arm. She stated since he is getting out, she would check with the doctor and see if they could get by with not giving them to him and that he “probably got a little”. We were very concerned as he got none of the medication. We are now sitting at another hospital 6 hours later and they are absolutely floored at the negligence of letting him out in such condition, and that they made such a critical mistake starting his meds when he arrived so sick. The front desk associates are exceptionally rude, as is the (I am assuming) charge nurse (blonde hair, normal clothes) on the 2nd floor. For 2 days we watched them speak to people poorly, and have zero compassion or concern for not only us, but other patients and their families. This used to be the place to go no doubt, but now you need to run!! They do not care about your health or well being. It’s not just one of them, it’s all of them.

I'm so grateful for the staff here. They treated my father and I so well. He went in for a cancer treatment this morning, and they were professional, attentive, courteous, and efficient. Thank you.

Wendy (greeter) makes it hard to visit someone. Had me wait downstairs while she called up to the nurses station to see how many visitors were in the room before she would let me up. I get that to a certain extent, but she always takes it too far. Especially when the nurses on the floor states they don’t care how many visitors are in the room as long as everyone is respectful. She is always rude when checking in to visit. I try to avoid her as much as possible.

I sent my daughter alone to the ER today because I had to work. She was met with rudeness from the staff and her issues were dismissed. She was not examined at all! Only her vitals were checked. After explaining to the medical professional what her symptoms were, she was asked, “well what is it that you want me to do today?” I think she was mainly dismissed because she is young and was alone. She left still feeling bad and defeated. The doctor office won’t see patients in the office with cold/flu like symptoms so patients forced to visit the ER just to be overlooked and not helped. Not even a breathing treatment for her wheezing. She was told that she MAY have an upper respiratory infection. How did they determine that without an examination or any kind of x-rays or labwork. Just nothing. Very disappointing. We will
not be going back.

I took my husband to the ED today because of an accident that resulted in a gash on the top of his head.
There were 8 to 10 DIFFERENT people in and out of the room who for the most part didn’t do much of anything beyond looking at his head.
After 2 hours I went into the hall where a nurse asked if she could help me. This nurse had been one of the people who had previously been in the room about an hour earlier. She had said she had to check on another patient and would come right back and clean his head. Which she did not do.
By clean his head I mean get the dried, caked blood off so they could even evaluate the extent of the injury. I had been afraid to do anything at home because of the continual bleeding.
I explained to this nurse in the hall my husband had been there 2 hours and no one had even cleaned his head AND it had started bleeding again, which is what really caused me to seek help.
I will say my husband did receive care at that point. Although there continued to be several different people in and out of the room who didn’t seem to know what they were supposed to do.
Many of these people never put on gloves and I only saw one person use the hand sanitizer on the wall. One person put on gloves and then proceeded to type on the computer and touch several other things. She was going to apply alcohol to my husband’s head. I suggested to her that she should change her gloves before cleaning my husband’s head. She was defensive but did ultimately change gloves.
And one of the worst things was the room was quite dirty. I am sure it had not been swept or mopped recently. And the bed my husband was on looked like it had never been cleaned. There were even scraps of paper on the base of it. I took several pictures of the bed and floor to substantiate my comments.
I pointed out some of the dirt to the student/doctor who did the stitches. I told him that did not instill confidence.
I will not recommend people go to this ED.
