Sitting in the hospital for 7 hours for a laceration on my hand. Makes me feel more like a paycheck than a patient.

First off i am giving one for the after care. I had to have my appendix removed. The emergency room to the recovery staff along with the Surgeon were amazing. After the surgery once i was placed in my room i was pretty much left to rot for 2 days. Going hrs past when my medication had worn off to asking to be helped to walk on my own never happened. Let alone asking for water that never came once the doctor cleared me to have it and food. I also never received food after the doctor put in for it. Mind you i was in there for 2 days. No food just IVS. The night staff was great on checking on me as compared to the other shifts. I never got my last dose of pain meds on my last day. To add insult to injury the total cost was over 66 thousand. Do not go here if you have a issue that you have to stay overnight. i will drive to auburn before i ever get treated at this hospital again. Once again emergency room and all surgical staff even the MRI lady were all great at getting me diagnosed and medicated till i got the surgery .

I know that everyone has a different experience, but I wanted to share mine. I went to the ER yesterday morning thinking I was having a stroke. From the time that i walked in unto check out, I was treated phenomenally! From the first person Catreena, to Dr. Dietzer, my staff nurse Katie, and my nurse after her John, all were outstanding. We often let the bad influence all of the good that people do, when it should be the other way around. There was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING negative about my experience. I hope that these guys get the praises that they so richly deserve. Again, thank you so very much. Piedmont Midtown, you are VERY blessed to have this as your team.

I was in a terrible car accident in the beginning of January this year. They let me leave with multiple fractured ribs without letting it be known to me nor providing the information on my discharge papers, yet it was on my online chart?? I was called back to the hospital maybe 3-4 hours after they released me because they thought I might be hemorrhaging and told me I could sleep in the trauma room (it was 12 AM when I was called back) yet the nurses decided it was a great time to group up and yell obscenities for a solid 20 minutes right outside the room. I tried to voice some other concerns that actually did end up becoming issues to the nurse that was sticking in my IV, but was completely ignored and interrupted because she was so excited that she found my vein that she just had to let the other nurse know, no regard for anything I was asking. There was trash on the floor in the room when I got there and dried blood on smeared on surrounding surfaces. The fact that this is the closest trauma center terrifies me for anyone in a life threatening situation in the area considering their widely known reputation for malpractice and negligence. I hope you or someone you know or love is lucky enough to experience the rare occurrence of proper care if they’re in such a situation. Something needs to change here, soon.
