This location is a joke. I went to this location today for my yearly visit. The girls at the front desk acted like they had zero clue of what was going on. I had to tell the girl that my insurance number had changed, but not my insurance itself. I shouldn't have to tell someone that she should be asking. She then came back to tell me she had to call my insurance to see if they were in network, which is fine—I totally understand.
The girl then proceeded to call my insurance company, which took a while. I went up to the front and told them that on my insurance app on my phone it showed that I was in network, in case that helped with anything. She said it didn’t and that they still had to call. This call took around 30 minutes, and meanwhile I was waiting for them to tell me what they said.
I went to the front, and the girl told me they aren’t taking my certain type of insurance plan, but they take the insurance, just not my plan. I knew this was wrong, and the girl didn’t know what she was talking about. They have taken it previously before, and I know each year plans and such change, but usually the provider and practice notify you. When I made my appointment, if the insurance wasn’t accepted, they would usually let you know.
I decided to call my insurance company and see what the problem was. I called my insurance, and the lady looked and verified that they do take my plan and insurance. She then contacted another office to confirm, just to make sure she was telling me correctly. The other location confirmed that you, in fact, take my plan.
I then had to make another appointment due to your office staff not knowing what they are doing. I had to drive out of my way because your staff doesn’t know what they are talking about at the Buford location. It’s very frustrating that I had to call my insurance, and they had to contact another office.
I felt embarrassed and discriminated against in your Buford location. The other location was very pleasant and kind, and their front office team was very on top of things. I think the Buford location needs to figure out what other locations do compared to theirs.
An appointment that should take only 15–20 minutes at most shouldn’t take over 5 hours because your staff members aren’t trained. I don’t know who she talked with while she was on the phone, but it clearly wasn’t the right person or company.
For the distance and how I had to go out of my way due to your staff not being knowledgeable, I should be reimbursed for my time and gas. Very unprofessional
