  Dr. Desai is a great cardiologist. He's helped me figure out some very important things pertinent to my health. He might run a little behind but that is because he always takes the necessary time with each patient. I've never felt rushed or dismissed. When my life long friends said they needed to see a cardiologist, I recommended him. I'm grateful to him and his staff.

  I am a heart transplant recipient. I had the transplant last year at Piedmont on Collier Road. Last week I made an appointment at this location for labs, entirely out of convenience. I had me labs drawn but one of the vials was overlooked. Either left in the refrigerator, a tray, or lost in transit. My post transplant coordinator phoned me today, FOUR days after the initial lab draw to let me know it was never received. I phoned the office to get a redraw and was REFUSED an appointment. The lady said she needed to speak with a nurse about it even though there was a doctors order for it. Ridiculous. The customer service is nonexistent and the nurses clearly know nothing about transplant patients and the imperative care and tests they need. Rather than educating the nurses, they let them refuse access to the patients. Avoid this office, drive to Collier Road where they actually care about the heart patient.

  They tried to tell me (a disabled person) that their services *are* in fact accessible when I told them that services were not accessible to me. This is illegal. I am a bedbound patient and needed them to order and review an echo through an in-network mobile imaging company. They refused illegally in violation with the ADA. Poor business management, illegal practices, and non-empathetic providers who are unsupportive of human rights. How a practice treats disabled patients tells a lot about them. Avoid this place.

  I’d like to give Dr Desai 5 stars but the staff rated 3 stars. Firstly, voicemail, text and MyChart instructions say be at the 7am appointment by 6:45. We arrive at 6:35. No lights are on and the door is not opened. At 6:50 stills no lights on so we ring the bell. A lady answers to say no one is in the office. At 6:59 we see a car come racing into the parking lot and park at a side entrance. Shorty after that we see lights come on and the doors open. Tony greets us takes my husband back and put in a port but can’t start test until office staff arrives to check us in. Now 7:30 a lady comes in. I tell her my husband is on pause until we check in. Now I find that they are unsure if insurance has approved the procedure. Explained I received an estimate the day before and no co pay was required. No big deal I’ll pay a co pay. So first they have to call insurance again??? Shouldn’t this have been done before we arrived. So now at 8 am they begin the test. No apologies for delays. No apologies for late arrivals. I believe my time is important. We’re here on time, rearranged our work schedules to be here as requested only to wait 80 minutes to be seen. And it is the first appointment of the day? I believe clients deserve better more timely process.
