  Dr. Rakhi Kheraj is the best Gastrointerologist at Piedmont Hospital in Augusta. She found my Liver Cancer in 2017. As soon as she saw the result of my Bloodwork, she called Dr. Lance Stein at Piedmont Hospital Atlanta made all the necessary arrangements for me then called me and told me what time and date to be there. Dr. Stein did everything he could the first time I went to the Group in Atlanta. With in 12 months I was in remission. Without Dr. Rakhi I could have seen another Dr. that may have said, naw it's nothing to be concerned about. And I could have been Dead in two years or less.

  The doctor is never in the office and the staff doesn't do a good job of keeping up with phone calls. I do NOT recommend going here at all.

  The communication between physicians, nurses and patients is absurdly poor. There is absolutely no follow through with what is told to the patient and frankly I believe no one knows what their doing. The only reason they get one star is because of one nurse who is a student that took absolutely great care of my mother. There is an extreme lack in bedside manner as well as empathy and compassion for their patients. No one communicates with one another to ensure patient safety and satisfaction. Patients are left in the dark to speculate and assume about prognosis and left to self advocate if not medically knowledgeable. As a RN who practices in CT we sit with interdisciplinary teams to decide patient care and discharge as soon as the patient is admitted. Communication is clear so everyone is on the same page and our physicians place orders for nurses according to the individualized plan of care for the patient. Physicians sign off on care plans, admissions and discharges proficiently and effectively. Piedmont Hospital in Augusta is a poorly operated organization and I am surprised they are accredited for operation. My prayers are with all of the patients in that hospital.
