I had a 1:00 PM appointment with a cardiologist and arrived early. By 1:30, several patients who arrived after me were being taken back, so I politely asked the front desk if they knew when I might be seen. I was told this particular doctor is “always late.”
When the MA/nurse, (Crystal) called me back, she immediately confronted me with an irritated tone and asked if there was a problem. I calmly explained I had only asked about my wait time. Instead of proceeding, she escalated the situation, refused to take me back, and even threatened to call security after I quietly expressed frustration under my breath nothing directed at her, (at that time).
The situation continued to escalate with additional staff being pulled in, and I began to feel uncomfortable and targeted. Ultimately, I canceled my appointment and left without being seen.
This was my first visit, as I was trying to establish care with a cardiologist. Instead, I left confused, upset, and now needing to start over elsewhere. Very disappointing and unprofessional experience
