  The administrative staff at The Piedmont ODC and the Piedmont Hospital billing department are incompetent, dishonest or possibly both. At check in on 02.17.23 I was given a printed and digital estimate of out of pocket costs to me of $184.20 for routine knee x-rays ordered by my Piedmont Physician’s Group doctor. The medical CPT code (CPT 73560- HC Xr Knee 1-2v) used in the estimate was correct and the estimate stated that any costs for radiologist or other physician’s fees would be billed separately for which I was subsequently billed $30. I agreed to the estimate and paid the $184.20 at check in prior to receiving the x-rays which took less than 10 minutes to complete. 3 days later on 02.20.23 I received an emailed statement for a balance due of $243.60 bringing my total cost to $427.80, 2.3 TIMES THE ESTIMATE. I immediately called the ODC administrator who eventually told me there was nothing she could do and that I would have to contact billing who in turn told me I would have to contact the ODC- a classic bureaucratic “ping pong” used to shirk responsibility. Had I known the actual bill was $427.60 for routine x-rays I would never had agreed to the service. I would have gone to Wellstar or another provider where I subsequently have been quoted a cost of less than $200. My insurance company, United Health Care, told me that the cost of the x-rays should have been $88.80! My advice to anyone considering The Piedmont ODC is to avoid it and go to Wellstar, Northside, Emory or elsewhere.

  We were really pleased with our experience here. We checked in online the day before. They offered paid parking which is unfortunate but when we got inside things moved rather quickly. We were called by registration within 3min. From registration we went to the imaging suite and was called back within 2min. When we got to the room for imaging, the tech began right away. The results of the imaging were then immediately sent to the physician. I am so impressed by this facility. I mean IM-PRESSED! Things were clean, everyone was professional and helpful. I would definitely recommend!
