The mammogram was very uncomfortable. The tech was nice but in the 40 years I’ve been Having them done this was by far the most uncomfortable .My chest area along with my breasts were red for hours ! I’ve had a biopsy done with preliminary 3d exams being far less painful I’m not trying to be negative as you will see from my prior reviews but this time would be my last if it had been the first time

The staff here always go above and beyond expectations. This last visit, I was barely walking when I came in, and the woman who was checking me in called for a wheelchair. I had an attendant to wheel me while I was there, and when I was done they, called for security to drive me to my car in the parking garage. There were two security officers, and they were friendly and got me to my car and walked with me to get me in my car.
I took my husband for a C/T scan last Thursday at 6:00PM. It was a great time for us since the traffic had died down quite a bit. But we didn’t have to use the bypass. I could not believe how quickly the whole process was. We have a handicap parking permit so we got to park right outside the entrance beside the ER entrance. After we checked in the tech lady that did the scan came out and wheeled him back and it was only 5 minutes before she wheeled him back out to the waiting area. I was in shock 😳. That place is great. Since they’ve added on and redid everything Piedmont Hospital is so easy to navigate now and beautifully designed. I really like this hospital these days !!!

I had surgery with Dr. Erickson. Amazing doctor. Very kind and knowledgeable. Great bedside manner and clean surgeon. I had 2 nurses that were both great and attentive. Now the bad: when I woke from my procedure in post op, I was in major pain. I mean crying pain, the nurse who was caring for me kept telling me to “keep it down there’s other patients in the room” … my pain was far above a rate of 10. It was 100!!! I didn’t get pain medicine until I was in my room on nephrology. I was sobbing entering the room. The nurse that was waiting on nephrology had the medication ready as soon as I rolled up… but why???? Piedmont, you let your patients suffer in post op until they get to their room?? Or was the nurse negligent? Furthermore, as I’m wheeled up and sobbing and overwhelmed, my family is all over the room and the charge nurse is fighting with my husband to let my 3 year old see me, his mom who just had cancer removed. She then proceeds to call SIX SECURITY GUARDS on my husband. SIX! it was an entire scene. When my husband explained the situation to security, they all agreed they would have done the same thing and that their policy wasn’t fair. Keep in mind, my son was allowed in my pre-op appointment, he was allowed in pre-op the day of my surgery, and he was even allowed to walk down the hall with me wheeling in right before the doors to surgery. Nobody batted an eye but for some reason, nephrology thinks it’s a problem. And I can’t count how many times in the past year that my son was allowed on Cardiology, Med A, and Gen Surg to see family but he couldn’t see his own sick mother with cancer? What is the policy again? Because it’s clearly not direct and regulated.
Last but definitely not least, I was told by registration that I will have 12 MONTHS to pay A $12,000 BILL. Who has $1000 extra a month to pay that??? I will NOT be using Piedmont and will be going to Gainesville!

This past week I was admitted to Piedmont in Athens, and I couldn’t have asked for better care. Between the ER nurse Tonya, who is a rock star! She was so attentive, and caring especially through her very busy shift. She managed to multitask like no other with a smile on her face and she did an amazing job! Once I got admitted I got the pleasure of meeting the best nurse team, and let me tell you Ms. Roxanne, she was an angel. When you think of nurses, she was a true Godsend. The best type of healing doesn’t always come from medicine but by care and kind words. Ms. Roxanne is everything that a Nurse is!! Ms. Allison, was always cheerful even in those early morning hours! Piedmont I hope you know what gems you have working for you!!!! I may have been in a lot of discomfort but the care that was given and laughs that were exchanged will be a reason I will choose Piedmont every time.
