Dr. Akpinar was absolutely outstanding. My husband saw him after injuring his knee playing basketball, and from the moment he walked in, he felt confident he was in the right hands. Dr. Akpinar took his time, sat down with him, and thoroughly explained everything in a way that was clear and easy to understand. He didn’t rush the appointment and made sure all of my husband’s questions and concerns were addressed — especially since he’s very active and flag football season is right around the corner. What really stood out was how attentive and detailed he was, even pointing out findings from childhood that my husband didn’t even realize he had. He truly listened and cared about helping him heal properly rather than just giving a quick fix. While my husband is disappointed he has to wait a bit for his knee to fully recover, he’s grateful Dr. Akpinar caught everything early and helped prevent a more serious injury that could have required surgery. We are so thankful for his expertise, honesty, and genuine care. Highly recommend him to anyone needing a knowledgeable and compassionate orthopedic doctor.
I struggled on if I should put this or not because I don’t like leaving negative reviews but I also don’t want anyone else to have the same experience I had.
I would not recommend going to this nyu practice even if you have insurance as they charge more than anyone in the area by a lot. The doctor inserted me with a single shot in my knee of a hyaluronic acid injection. It took all of 10 minutes including my wait time. They charged me $3917. To put that in perspective my husband just had knee surgery by Dr. Norris(different Dr office, highly recommend), where he had to remove bone and fix ligaments and he charged $4000 for the surgery.
The shot he charges $1288 and for him to
Inject me with it he charged $2629.
I messaged the Dr office several times asking if there was a mistake and asked for them to speak to the doctor and they refused to lower the price.
I should have asked in more detail what this cost. That’s my fault. When we talked about a a PRP injection he said around $1000 and I assumed this one would be about the same. So I highly encourage you to talk pricing before assuming. $4000 for this injection is ridiculous. I will never be back.
Dr. Akpinar and Jordan Naidrich, DPT have been great at helping me pre- surgery and post- surgery with my hip! Grateful to have found NYU Langone!

I saw Andrew Harb and it was refreshing to have a doctor who listened. Had compassion and gave me multiple ways to help my issue. Looking forward to seeing him again in the future.
Dr Harb is amazing. He is both an excellent diagnostician and a very caring and compassionate physician. His treatment relieved my pain and he followed up the next day with a phone call to check on me. So glad he is now part of the NYU Langone team!
