- SESue EvartsDec 29, 20192.0Hired Home Instead for 2 months to. care for an elderly 90 yr old with dementia and had trouble getting out of bed and into the shower. 80% of the caregivers they sent were not qualified to take care of someone like that. Also had a very high turnover rate went through about 10 caregivers in that time one never showed up at all others just quit or you never see them again. The majority of the caregivers you don't want to see again.Out of all the caregivers they sent only two Wilma and Melissa cared about the patient and had experience. The last caregiver was the worst in the 4 hours she worked did not clean or change her depend or the sheets. She ended up in the hospital the next day with a urinary infection. The caregiver told me she did not want to wake her up to change it. They also stopped trying to get her into the shower. Some are good at making breakfast and doing laundry I will give them that. The poor care resulted in moving her to a memory care complex in Venice called Liana which unlike Home Instead is very good about keeping her clean and well cared for.
