  Formal Complaint: Safety and Professionalism Concerns 1. Breaches in Sterile Protocol and Hygiene During my visit on March 18, 2026, I witnessed a severe lapse in sanitary procedures. A staff member in the donor area placed her hand inside a waste bin to reposition a supply cart. While she complied with my request to change her gloves, she subsequently used her newly gloved hand to adjust the same cart—specifically touching the area near the needle supplies—before handling the gauze used on my arm. This cross-contamination is unacceptable in a clinical environment where sterile integrity is paramount to donor safety. 2. Issues with Clinical Technique I have noted a significant inconsistency in the skill level of the screening staff. During a previous visit, the finger prick was performed with excessive force, resulting in bruising and marks that lasted for several days. This exceeds the standard discomfort expected for a protein/hematocrit screen and suggests a need for further training in phlebotomy or donor screening techniques. 3. Unprofessional Staff Conduct There is a distressing lack of professionalism regarding the bedside manner of the medical staff. While the physicians appear cordial during the physical examination, I observed immediate shifts in demeanor—including visible expressions of annoyance and disparaging looks directed toward me and shared with other colleagues—the moment I turned to exit. This creates a hostile and "ghetto" atmosphere that feels performative rather than genuinely patient-centered. 4. Environment and Facility Standards The overall environment of this facility (formerly BPL Plasma) does not meet the expectations of a clean, sterile medical center. Between the lack of basic hygiene awareness and the visible agitation of the staff, the facility feels disorganized and unsafe. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am reporting a serious safety and hygiene breach at your facility. During my visit, a staff member (young woman with a neck tattoo) touched the inside of a biohazard/sharps container with her gloves before attempting to disconnect my machine. When asked to change them, she was dismissive. This, combined with the unprofessional and rude attitude of the screening and physical exam staff, has made it impossible for me to return. I will be taking my donations elsewhere due to these unsanitary conditions.

  Do not go here if you want to have a positive experience. The staff is extremely rude and unprofessional particularly Val, she had the nastiest attitude of anyone in a customer facing role I’ve encountered in years. If you want to go to a decent plasma donation center where the people are friendly, helpful and welcoming, go to the BioLife on Waters Avenue. The staff there is absolutely amazing and the establishment is very clean. Avoid this place if you have any self respect. This place offers you none.
