I am writing to offer my strong recommendation and heartfelt appreciation for Dr.
Garland Glenn and his staff, who has been caring for my wife, Cindy, in his ReCODE-
based program for the past year. As her spouse and daily caregiver, I have had the
opportunity to observe both her struggles and her progress very closely.
When we first came to Dr. Glenn, my wife was experiencing increasing forgetfulness,
trouble following conversations, difficulty managing daily tasks, and we were feeling a
great deal of fear and uncertainty about the future. Dr. Glenn took the time to listen
carefully to our concerns, review her history in depth, and explain a comprehensive,
step-by-step plan tailored to her needs. His combination of scientific knowledge, clear
communication, and genuine compassion gave us a sense of hope.
Over the past year, we have seen meaningful signs of improvement in my wife’s
cognitive abilities and daily functioning. For examples: follow multi-step, instructions,
remember appointments, engage in longer conversations, manage a simple routine,
participate more actively in family activities. These may seem like small things on paper,
but for us they have made a remarkable difference in her confidence and quality of life.
Just as important, she herself feels more hopeful and engaged, which we directly
attribute to Dr. Glenn’s guidance and encouragement.
I have been consistently impressed by Dr. Glenn’s thoroughness and dedication. He
carefully monitors test results, adjusts the treatment plan as needed, and explains his
reasoning in language we can understand. He treats my wife with respect and kindness
at every visit and always makes sure that both of us leave with our questions answered
and a clear sense of the next steps.
My wife and I are deeply grateful for the progress she has made and the renewed
sense of hope we now have. Based on our experience over this past year, we would
recommend Dr. Garland Glenn & his staff without reservation to any family seeking
thoughtful, evidence-informed, and compassionate care for cognitive decline.

The whole team at Carroll Institute are absolutely incredible, especially Doctor Garland his attention to details is like no other doctor I’ve ever had. I’m not through with the program yet, and it has already changed my life significantly can’t wait to see the total healing results.

I found Dr. Glenn about 4 years ago through his free seminars. I had read Dr. Bredesen's book and was so excited to find the Carrol Institute right here in Sarasota. Dr. Glenn trained under Bredesen and he explained the recode system so that the lay person could understand it. I had a dear friend that had been diagnosed with early Alzheimer's and I took her to the seminar. I was fascinated by his presentation. Twila went through the program and I was so amazed and pleased with what was happening with her. Before Dr. Glenn it was very difficult to have a conversation. She knew what she wanted to say but could not get her words out. In the initial testing, Dr. Glenn found she has 3 heavy metals in her brain. He put her on a regime for about two to three weeks and it was amazing. Her son called me and said, " I talked to mom last night at 10 PM and it was a normal conversation." There were many other improvements in her being able to function every day. I will always be grateful that we found this program. I go to his seminars on a regular basis and usually take a friend. I learn something each time and I have always believed knowledge is power. Dr. Glenn keeps up with all the latest research. He has a very affordable program to test where you are on the cognition scale. Anyone over 40 would benefit from the testing but by all means check out his free seminar and judge for yourself! All the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. No pressure just great information as to how you or someone you care about can improve the quality of their life!

Thanks to Dr Glenn and his amazing team of talented people with whom I have been working for that past 18 months. Once I discovered from a DNA test that I have one of the 2 possible genes for Alzheimer's, I started researching possible treatments to prevent it. I went to one of his workshops and was so glad I did. By following his program, not only have I not had cognitive decline, but by changing my diet and following his advice, I have never felt better!....no more arthritis, sleep has improved...you name it!

If I were reading this review, I might suspect the writer had been bribed to write such a glowing one. But trust me, I am prone to being a bit critical! Dr Glenn & Co. have simply far exceeded my hopes for help with my husband's Alzheimer's diagnosis.
Let me start by being negative.
Several years ago we began to search for a diagnosis re: my husband's geographic disorientation and memory lapses. Locals claimed Sarasota Memorial's Memory Clinic was a good place to start. That clinic gave Mark a brief, rudimentary test that confirmed dementia, and they said, "Come back in 6 months." No advice about diet, exercise, brain games, etc. I thought that was odd, and went looking for a more helpful group.Roskamp was recommended as the premier memory loss center in the area.
Roskamp confirmed an Alzheimer's diagnosis but apparently majors in clinical research rather than treatment for this disease. One of these two clinics put Mark on the two obvious (old & not terrifically helpful) meds used for Alzheimer's. patients (Donepizil and Memantine). But neither organization gave us any further treatment suggestions (beyond joining a study to potentially improve the lives of future patients, which we were happy to do....)
Then I read an ad for a free lecture on various forms of cognitive decline and the promising headway (I think it said) that The Carroll Institute was making with their patients. We went and were very impressed with the informative lecture by Dr. Garland Glenn. After a very informative initial (free) consultation, we signed up and paid about a third of what a Lakewood Ranch doctor was charging to get into her less comprehensive program.
I have never felt better about spending money. Eight months ago, my husband tested at 1% on a lengthy Cognitive Ability test. Recently, after pretty much complying with the wealth of recommendations coming from the Institute, Mark tested at 33%! And Dr Glenn said if we keep up with the anti-inflammatory diet he recommends, the exercise, the brain games and multiple high-quality supplements (we get at a discount through Apex Energetics), etc etc, his score will only continue to improve.
Clearly the significance of his improvement is based on the validity of the test and I can't speak to that, but it does say something that he scored so differently on the same test. And my experience of my husband has been very positive.
I love Dr Glenn, his great wife who advises re: the diet, and Nina the receptionist. They combine great smarts, an eagerness to pursue the latest information out there that might improve their success with wonderful personalities. (The other staff are great too; we just don't know them as well.)
Dr Glenn's protocol is SO comprehensive it boggles my mind that the other two "Memory Clinics" manage to keep anyone attending their appointments at all. They do diagnose, but they don't seem equipped to treat or make anyone improve!
(I hope I don't get sued for libel, but this was our experience and perhaps they've gotten better since we left. I wouldn't know.)
When you read that there is no "cure" for Alzheimer's, take it with a pinch of salt. That may be true in terms of reversing ALL the effects of this disease, but I can guarantee you that I have seen NO decline in my husband's memory the way we read we could expect by now.
When friends hear that he's had the diagnosis, they are ultra-sympathetic, but I tell them that, really, with the right oversight, there needn't be a rapid decline, at least in our experience.
Mark has APOE-4 genes on BOTH sides of his DNA helix. No doubt everyone's dementia experience is different, but we were headed downhill and now have great hope for the future!
I can't say enough about Dr Glenn's comprehensive testing and treatment plan. He gives each patient an individualized plan based on his particular test results. There are a number of causes of dementia and you can't assume two people will require the same treatment.
Anyway, I guess it's obvious I am sold on this group.
