Very disappointing experience. Showed up for a scheduled eye exam. I made it months ago. The check in person had me fill out some forms but said my insurance was showing as inactive. She was unable to use the system to look me up. After some prodding, she found me. I have active insurance. Then the manager (Rachel) came out and told me they were unable to see me, in spite of having an appointment. She was very dismissive and seemed overwhelmed and backed up. It was clear they were overbooked with patients and only one doctor. And all of us showed up at the same time so clearly this wasn't scheduled or planned well by this store. Overall, this was a very disheartening experience. I called America's Best to get an appointment and the experience was night and day. LensCrafters treated me so poorly. I won't be back.

I had a great experience at LensCrafters thanks to Laura D! Even though they didn’t have the exact frames I was looking for in stock, Laura went above and beyond by finding similar styles so I could get a feel for them before placing an order. She was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and patient, and made the whole process easy and stress-free. You can tell she genuinely cares about helping her customers. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend asking for Laura D!

The staff all did a great job. The eye doctor appeared to be thorough. However, the prices seem very high.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best LensCrafters Experience Ever
This was the best experience I’ve ever had at any LensCrafters location. After many visits to different locations in Sarasota, this was the first time I truly felt that someone cared about my needs.
Laura was absolutely amazing. She patiently reviewed my insurance benefits with me, explained everything clearly, and took the time to help me find the perfect glasses and sunglasses. Her patience, professionalism, and kindness made a huge difference.
She also involved other team members when needed, and everyone was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The entire staff worked together to make my visit smooth and enjoyable.
This was by far my best LensCrafters experience in many years. Laura is truly the best and nicest person, and LensCrafters is lucky to have her.
Highly recommended Laura the best employee and nicest person at Lens Crafter at Sarasota UTC Mall
Thank you Laura
Sincerely

Christian at the University Town Center store in Sarasota Florida provided absolutely outstanding service. My wife had bent her expensive Ray-Ban’s And I brought them in to see if they could be repaired. He took them in the back and fixed them like new! He was incredibly professional, kind, and considerate. My wife and I buy all of our glasses from LensCrafters, and will definitely ask for him in the future.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
