- DRDavid Raff2 days ago2.0Had to share how dissapointed I was to hear that it takes up to two weeks to post a doctor's order for a prescription marked extremely urgent and that has nothing to do with the actual processing time to start working on the order. Very inefficient. I hope the fulfilment of the order goes better.

He initially came out to adjust the headset on my daughter’s car seat. He ended up making multiple adjustments that made the seat so much more comfortable for her. We also have a wheelchair that he adjusted and showed me how to make future adjustments to. I really appreciate his attention to detail and awareness for safety. I would definitely recommend Jacari West for future services.

How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?

Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
