They also chose to not even communicate with me on it. They just ignored the documents that were faxed over numerous times and finally someone told me today it was ignored because they assumed that it would just get denied. Gross and inappropriate. Don’t waste your time with this company like I did.

They are the worst ones I’ve seen to get a hold of and my doctor has faxed them paperwork that they said they never received so I had them today which is December 12, 2025 fax the paperwork again. My doctor said they faxed it on November 26, 2025.

I was at my 5 year mark in my first wheelchair- My tires were bald causing me to slide off sidewalks and slip down wet hills unable to get traction, my seat was horrendously worn out, flat-ironically making it more painful to be in my chair... And yet, still FOUR (4) other wheelchair supply companies turned me down! Some even stated "they wouldn't make money off my claim so it wasn't worth it for them"....😳 Enter a caring rep whose company turned me down, but they still referred me to Corey at National Seating and Mobility, feeling he could help me. After a quick phone conversation the ball was rolling, an in person evaluation was scheduled and in one meeting (where he came to me) he was able to get me measured, adjusted, ordered and within 2 months I was getting my new custom chair delivered to me!!! Another huge advantage is Corey being a wheelchair user himself was able to give insights and adjustments that I didn't know to ask for, or realize how much more comfortable it would make my life! I can't thank Corey and national seating and mobility enough for not only stepping up when everyone else gave me the run around, but also for the promptness, thoroughness, consideration, and clear communication with updates throughout the ordering process. My new chair is perfect and makes my quality of life so much better, and less painful, by incorporating the proper cushion, support and functionalities needed for seated daily life. Thank you!!

Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
