My experience from all who took care of me was awesome. Everyone were professional and were able to answer my questions concerning the care of my sight. I am grateful ☺️

Changed ownership. I had an appointment with the previous ownership. I called 4 times over 2 weeks and left a message as instructed to confirm my appointment. Nobody called back. I came in for my appointment and they “had no record from previous ownership” and would not see me.

Absolutely atrocious practice. It all started great when office calls and discussed insurance info. I do appreciate that courteous service. We went there because our previous optometrists were there (an Asian husband and wife couple I believe), but they have moved on to Oviedo, and we were not aware this is a completely new practice with new doctors.
Office staff told my wife she needs to do a dilation exam, and this is due to a Florida law. When I pressed to see what this law is, I was told the doctor will explain. They gave my wife a form to sign, to consent to a dilation. This is not the norm. It’s completely a patient’s right to accept or decline a dilation. Doesn’t matter if it’s covered by insurance, doesn’t matter if it’s a good thing to do. You cannot coerce people into thinking if you don’t accept a service, you or the doctor get into trouble with the law as well as insurance. Every single other optometrist or ophthalmologist we’ve seen has never ever portrayed it’s a necessity and legal requirement. We were either verbally explained the benefit of this additional procedure, and potential downfall of not getting one, but we were always given the option to either verbally or in-writing decline the service. And we have done dilation from time to time, or when necessary due to various reasons throughout the years.
When being questioned, Ms. Toth was very defensive and impatient, borderline condescending that just so for future years’ visits, if we have this kind of problems again, go ahead and find another doctor. I was beyond livid when I heard that. I exited the room and immediately got on phone with my insurance provider and Florida Department of Health and Board of Optometry and all have confirmed that what we knew was correct, and it’s not a legal requirement. We made official complaints and here to let people know about this practice. There are apparently 2 optometrist here now, and I don’t know how the other doctor does things, (Monica Mikhail is her name) Getting an eye exam should be simple, informative, and enjoyable. I haven’t been this upset about a medical practice for a long time. I usually respect doctors very much, they are supposed to be the guardians of my health, and I treat them as such. Never imagined this would happen, for this reason and cost.
I would never come back to this location until this practice is with new doctors. As well as the LensCrafters attached to it, even though I think they are 2 separate entities just sharing the same building. Be aware, and be warned. We’ve been to this location many times, the LensCrafters associate named James is very nice.

The policies here are completely ridiculous. They told us it’s Florida law to require being dilated every year for the eye exam. Either that or the optical imaging for $39. When questioned, it turns out it was not a law and they lied to our face. Then they said it’s required by insurance. Another lie! Dr.Toth had the gall to suggest if we don’t do the dilation this year, and we continue to not want it, then we can find another doctor. So her way or the highway. We will be reporting her practice to the DBPR and the Florida department of health.
