Horrible Experience - First time at Summit Eye Care College Road, Ocala, FL. When I entered, I was not greeted. The young lady at the desk asked, Do you have an appointment?” I brushed it off as I figured she was just overwhelmed. But that should have been a clue to future events that ultimately occurred. Once we were taken back into the exam room, the doctor seemed in a hurry and didn’t want to be there. I received my eyeglass Rx and was told that someone would assist me. I saw a young lady standing near the front with an iPad, thinking she would assist me. Once I asked if she could help me, she told me another young lady would assist me, but that young lady was busy. I said okay and looked around. I found the perfect pair. After about 20 minutes, the young lady came over and attempted to assist. I wanted to know if there were any deals on the frames that I wanted. She attempted to show me other frames. Needless to say, I didn’t purchase any frames. Once I reached my car, I sent a request to see if I could find a discount, maybe through Cigna. Well, what do you know, there was a huge discount through my insurance and with LensCrafters. But wait, isn’t that her job? I decided I’d wait on my trial contacts, then order some and forget about the glasses. After about two and a half weeks, I called to see if my contacts had arrived. I ended up leaving a message because no one answered. Thankfully someone called me back and left a messsge stating that my trial contacts were in route. Four days later, I received a voicemail stating that the contacts were in but I needed to make an appointment. Unfortunately with my busy schedule trying to maintain in this economy, just taking off from work another day puts me behind in bills. I asked if I could get the exam & pick them up super early before I start my day the following Sunday. I was told no the doctor that gave me exam doesn’t work on Sundays. Then, I asked if I could just pick them up. I was told no again. The next day that I have available was three weeks out. That led me to ask for a refund and was told that she would have to ask the doctor first…. Shouldn’t there be a procedure set in cases like these? I am sure I am not the only one that has had difficulties with their work schedule to fit the doctors schedule. Two and half days later, I called back asking if she had received a response from the doctor about my refund for the contacts. She said that she was filling in today but was told about the situation this morning… and he (I assume she was talking about another doctor that could have possibly saw me the Sunday morning I was available) had looked at it and it should be processed sometime this weekend. Keep in mind, my doctor was a lady. We all know banks don’t process anything on the weekend. So I am sure I will have to call again next week asking about my refund. A waste of time and money!
