Dr Gaya and his staff deserve 100 stars but 5 is the max the website allows. Dr Gaya is one of the nicest, knowledgeable, very thorough doctors I have ever seen. What a wonderful experience. I highly recommend him without reservation!

The first thing he did when I came into the room was said , oh , you are on lorazapam. I said yes, my doctor prescribes it.He said, I can't give you any medication for tremors or any medication. If you would have dementia , because you are on this drug. Proceeded to tell me that all of my problems are due to mental health because i'm so terminally and Chronically ill. I did look it up and you can be on a medication for tremors , if you are on that drug , I am on. He wanted me to go for an m.R I but told me I didn't need to come back for the results. He wanted me to drive to gainesville , to see a doctor that could do some kind of ablation to part of my brain to stop the tremors. Isn't that a little bit overkill?I'm just trying to find out what's wrong with me

*Caveat: This review is based on my experience trying to establish as a new patient. I never got the chance to meet Dr. Gaya, as he changed his office policy midway through my onboarding. So this is a reflection of the new patient experience, not his office care. Please see other reviews related to office care to inform your decisions as well. *Key Takeaway: For new patients, he changed his office policy in Feb 2026 such that you need a referral from a “local MD.” I recommend you inquire if your MD qualifies as local before initiating paperwork. Dr. Gaya is the closest in-network neurologist to my home (50 mins, as I’m rural), but it seems like I’m not within their policy. *My Experience: I spent 1-2 weeks finding the closest in-network neurologist and then working with Dr. Gaya’s office to submit new patient paperwork, a referral, and office notes from all relevant appointments with other physicians. All of this with worsening concussion symptoms. After receiving everything, they responded and said that they changed their office policy “effective immediately” that you need a referral from a “local MD.” Dr. Gaya is among the closest in-network neurologists (1 of only 3 relevant MDs within 50 mins) to my rural home. But since I’m not “close enough to his office” with his new policy, I will need to travel even further to find a neurologist. I want to acknowledge that they are within their right to change office policies and stop accepting new patients at random; the above facts simply outline how it created a bad patient experience for me. *Email I received on Feb 6, 2026: “Dr Gaya has implemented a new policy effective immediately requiring all his patients to be referred to him by a local physician. Unless you are able to obtain a referral from a local MD, he will be unable to see you.”

This was my first appointment, from Renée and the other lady in the office, I was treated like they care about Dr. Gaya patients. Dr. Gaya was so kind and explained everything to me about my condition. He was very knowledgeable and was willing to listen to all my concerns. Such a wonderful doctor.
