Very poor service. I felt I had to continuously advocate for my child’s needs and they weren’t being heard. His pain level was not taken serious and the doctor kept trying to diminish his pain level. Very disappointed. I expected better from this hospital. My child also had a very traumatic injury and was sent home with no meds. Shame on the doctors who were overseeing my child’s care. He is still in extreme pain and he did not have a positive experience. I would not recommend this hospital. Not to mention we were from out of state (over 12 hrs away from home) and they knew this and still refused to give him meds at least until we could make it home. One of the nurses was great I believe her name was Natalia but the other nurses my son had seemed as if it was beneath them to help my child position himself and help him with a urinal. One nurse even said “me??!!! You want meeeee to do it? “ I can’t imagine anyone else going through this experience. A male nurse and female nurse spent most of their time playing and flirting while never checking in to comfort my child and ask him if he was ok. Even the female nurse taking out her phone to text in the middle of my child getting a CT scan. I was really shocked at the fact these two could just disregard a child crying loudly in pain and breathing so hard that I felt he was having a panic attack that was ignored. Just a warning if you come from a state where nurses give a high quality of care don’t have those high expectations here. You will be disappointed.

Dear Hospital Administration, I am writing to express my deepest appreciation for the exceptional care provided to my daughter during her stay last week on the 6th floor of the surgical unit. The doctors and nurses demonstrated an outstanding level of professionalism, compassion, and dedication throughout her treatment. Their attentiveness, kindness, and commitment to patient care made a significant difference during a very challenging time for our family. We felt reassured and supported every step of the way, and it is clear that your team is truly committed to excellence in healthcare. Please extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in her care. Their hard work and compassion will never be forgotten.

I’ve been at this hospital for the past four months while my daughter undergoes chemotherapy and treatment for brain cancer, and I truly feel like I’ve experienced enough to give an honest review. First, I want to say that the oncology team and surgical team have been absolutely incredible. Dr. Katib and Dr. Mahar, in particular, have been amazing throughout this entire process. They are attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely care, which has made such a difficult time a little more manageable. There are many staff members here who have shown us kindness and support, and for that I’m very grateful. However, there are some areas that really need improvement. The biggest concern is the MRI scheduling process, especially for young children who are placed on NPO and not allowed to eat. My daughter is not even two years old and has frequent MRIs to monitor her brain tumor. Every single time, she ends up going hours longer than expected without food. I’m talking about being told she’ll go early in the morning, but then she isn’t taken until 2 or 3 in the afternoon. It’s extremely hard on her and honestly heartbreaking as a parent. I’ve expressed this concern multiple times, and unfortunately, it continues to happen. Just recently, I even canceled and rescheduled an MRI because of delays, and was assured she would go first thing the next morning, but once again, we are still waiting close to noon with no update and she still has not eaten. For children this young who cannot understand why they can’t eat, this should absolutely be prioritized better. It’s not just inconvenient, it’s distressing for both the child and the parents trying to comfort them. Another area that needs improvement is the night shift nursing staff. While some nurses are wonderful, there have been consistent issues with noise and consideration for families trying to rest. Doors are often left wide open, bright lights come in from the hallway, and there is a lot of loud talking and unnecessary noise throughout the night. Machines are sometimes left beeping until I have to wake up and ask for assistance. It’s very difficult to get any real rest in those conditions, especially when you’re already under so much stress. I have brought these concerns up to the charge nurse, and while I’ve been told they would be addressed, the same issues continue the following nights. It’s frustrating to feel heard in the moment but not see any real changes. Overall, the hospital has provided strong medical care, and many members of the staff have been truly wonderful. But these operational and communication issues, especially regarding MRI scheduling for young children and nighttime care, really need attention and improvement.

Our daughter was recently transported by ambulance to the ER and ended up being admitted for a week. one that felt incredibly long for our family. Despite how difficult that time was, we cannot say enough about the exceptional care we received every step of the way. From the ambulance team and ER staff to the doctors and nurses on the respiratory floor and in the PICU, every single person we encountered showed an extraordinary level of compassion, dedication, and professionalism. The way they cared not only for our daughter but also supported us as parents truly went above and beyond our expectations. We only wish we had written down the names of every doctor and nurse we met, because each one deserves to be recognized. A very special thank you to Nurse Eli and Nurse Blanca you are truly one of a kind. The time, attention, and comfort you gave our baby meant everything to us, and we will never forget it. This hospital exceeded our expectations in every possible way. We are deeply grateful for the care, kindness, and support we received during such a difficult time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
