Disappointed with surgery scheduling and billing from surgery center. Called the day before to tell me to come in at 10am then called later to come in at 7am as my slot was changed. I get there at 7am only to wait over 6 hours until I am seen.
When checked in, I am told I owe money but what they charge is not what I was quoted. I tell them that but they say to not worry as I will be billed for the rest later. I was rushed to digitally sign this document and pay as other patients are lining up behind me for their appointments. I try to ask later while waiting around about this billing but they tell me that they don't do the billing, they just check people in and charge whatever is sent to them from billing. It took months to schedule this, I was not able to just walk out and really thought I would be able to resolve this later.
By them processing the procedure through insurance, I ended up with a much higher bill! After months of trying to pay what I was quoted, the department analyzing the billing simply told me they couldn't do anything as that was the amount I owed. This took 8 months to say they would not honor the pricing I was given.
Lesson learned: ALWAYS GET PRICES IN WRITING!!! and don't trust anyone. Besides those issues, all the people leading up to my surgery seemed nice, even though the process of quoting patients is flawed, frustrating and needs to change. If I have a choice in the future, I will not use Baptist.
