We had a very helpful sales associate (Vivian)who helped collect all information required from the doctor for the insurance company. Did a great job selling us on NSM, that there power chair features, and technology would be what we need to help us through our journey with ALS. A big selling point was the ability to adapt as the needs changed. The power chair is a nice piece of equipment and while we struggle with the voice control, it works beautiful.
We had features that were missing when delivered, but after several months and many phone calls a tech (Collin) came to the house and completed work.
Biggest problem now is getting anyone from the company to return our calls to help with changing needs. Not sure at this point if the chair were to break down there would be anybody there to help.
I just don't get it! This isn't a chair that you bought off the shelf at Walmart, it cost over $23,000. and I can't get a call back for help!! Just sad.

Joseph Davis, my repair tech, really cares about his customers!
I've never had such exceptional service from my "former" wheelchair service provider over past 7 years.
Joseph deserves a "significant" pay raise for the exceptional service he provides customers ... which in turn ... draws customers to "National Seating & Mobility" vs. noncaring competitors.
Specifics:
Joseph ordered all the "correct parts" and repaired all problems with my chair in 1 trip vs. 5 trips.
He also raised my seat to the proper height for my body structure which is significantly more comfortable.
And, now I can use standard height counters without hurting my shoulders always reaching up!!!
Both my shoulders are ruptured, so low seat level caused me pain daily reaching up to counter height.
I told "former" company service tech a year ago, when I received my new chair, the seat was much too low and tech did NOTHING to raise seat to a comfortable proper height for me.
... Again, my "former" service provider tech did nothing to raise the very low seat ... even when I said the seat was much too low at delivery of new chair last year! I suffered increased shoulders pain for a year due to my wheelchair seat height.
I still had my "old chair" and said look how high my old chair seat is... why is my "new chair" seat sooooo low?
... the "former" company tech did not respond and DID NOT raise the seat!
I suffered for a year in the extremely low seat and Joseph solved the problem in minutes. š
Joseph alone makes this company your "only choice" for wheelchair service.
I "highly recommend" Joseph Davis, service tech, who works for "National Seating and Mobility" for all your wheelchair needs as Joseph will ensure your chair is "adjusted correctly" for your comfort and working properly for best performance.
Great job Joseph!
I actually cried I was so happy he raised the height of my seat as "former" company tech didn't even tell me the seat could be raised.
I feel "former" company techs abuse disabled people as techs they hire "do not" provide basic or adequate service to disabled customers.

How canĀ I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because itās not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to āgrow with the childā
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
