  I am extremely disappointed with the service at Target Optical located at 1040 Dale Mabry Hwy, Lutz, Tampa, FL. My daughter recently visited to ask about contact lenses. She had an eye exam there back in January and was given a trial pair by the doctor. Since her birthday is coming up, she only wanted a small supply for a couple of days to see if she would use them more regularly. The staff member she spoke with, Terry, was very rude and dismissive from the start. My daughter explained her situation politely, but Terry insisted she needed another eye exam and could only order a 6-month supply. When my daughter questioned this—since she already had a recent exam—she was denied the chance to speak with the doctor and was told, “you need to leave.” My daughter was respectful the entire time. She even addressed Terry by name and intended to thank her if the service had been helpful. Instead, she left the store in tears, feeling embarrassed and upset. The way my daughter was treated felt unfair and deeply concerning. It raises serious concerns about possible bias or discrimination in how customers are treated. No one should be spoken to or dismissed in that manner. Regardless of store policy, there is no excuse for treating a customer this way. I hope management takes this seriously, looks into what happened, and ensures all customers are treated with respect and professionalism.

  worst experience here today. absolutely trash customer service. stuck up workers that have no business dealing with customers bec basic customer service is not a thing. went to my eye dr down the street and had 1000000% a better experience!

  They begged for a review, so here it goes. I chose Target Optical because they are an in-network provider for my employer, but I deeply regret that decision. My experience was unprofessional from start to finish: • The Wait: I had a 10:00 AM appointment and wasn’t seen until noon. A two-hour delay for a scheduled medical appointment is unacceptable. Once I was seen, I did not get a thorough exam due to them being so far behind with their schedule. The doctor was very nice I must say. • Insurance Negligence: I informed the staff three times that my benefits cover both frames and contacts. I was dismissed every time without them even checking my chart. I was forced to pay out-of-pocket for frames/lenses because they refused to verify my coverage. • Medical Mismanagement: After wearing my trial contacts, my vision was significantly worse. When I called to fix this, "Miesha" was incredibly dismissive. She claimed the doctor just put me in those lenses so I’d have "something" in my eyes. As someone with an extremely high prescription, no doctor would—or should—send a patient out with "random" lenses when I had my original pair with me. I am now stuck finishing my care here because my yearly benefits are tied to this location, but I would strongly advise others to go elsewhere. They need better scheduling and staff that actually listens to patients. Especially Miesha. I hope I do not have any further interactions with her again!

  I had a great experience at Target Optical! The staff was incredibly friendly, patient, and genuinely focused on helping me find the best options while saving money. They took the time to explain my choices, worked with my insurance, and made sure I got the best value without feeling rushed or pressured. Excellent customer service all around—I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending them to others!
