Largo Mall Lens Crafters is amazing. Been going there for 3 years and Dr. Young and his staff are not only friendly but very professional. Dr. Young explains my whole exam thoroughly. I highly recommend this Lens Crafters and Dr. Young.

Stay away!!! This place is a joke. I’ve been here three times and got a different story each time. Last year, I was told I’d only have to pay $133 for the frames and the rest would be covered. I was also told it would be fine if I brought my own frames. Then when I brought my frames, I was told I have to pay $158 for lenses — even though I have insurance and already have the frames. They also claim you can’t combine two insurances here — not sure if that’s true, but that’s what they’re saying at this location. Feels like a rip-off. Save your time and go to a normal glasses shop.

Dr. Young at Family Eye Care is such a great Doctor. I felt heard and he explained everything thoroughly. Ms. Edith was so supportive and positive. Alex at Lens Crafters is so knowledgeable, positive spirited and overall greatness! I would highly recommend this location for sure.

I have no eye health issues and just wanted a routine eye exam for a $15 copay through health insurance. This place forces you to get imaging for $37 that they know is not medically necessary and not covered under insurance. If I wanted a more comprehensive eye health test I would see an ophthalmologist through medical plan insurance, not an optometrist through vision plan insurance. They are getting paid by insurance for a regular routine exam and then adding this as well to collect more money from patients, they are double dipping. This is greed.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
