  I researched several orthodontists in Lakeland, Florida, comparing both service quality and cost, and that led me to Palm Tree Orthodontics, where I expected treatment to be around $3K based on online research. Before my appointment, I received multiple confirmation messages—including one stating the appointment would be canceled if I didn’t respond within 18 hours. Although it felt excessive, I assumed it was part of their process to ensure appointment accuracy. When I arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming. They took photos and reviewed a treatment plan with me, which included removing one of my lower front teeth—something I was not comfortable with. The estimated cost was also significantly higher than anticipated, at $6K. I was told I would receive a follow‑up email or text outlining the plan and next steps, but I never received any communication. I ultimately decided to seek a second opinion through my dentist, whose treatment plan was far more affordable—and, importantly, did not require removing any teeth. I’m very glad I took the time to explore another option.
