Do not recommend. I arrived for an appointment and, even though I'd just had a thorough eye exam from my ophthalmologist just 3 days prior, Lens Crafters would only give me an exam for glasses if they repeated the same tests my ophthalmologist had conducted... at my expense, of course. They refused to contact my ophthalmologist for records, stating that their doctor (who is not an ophthalmologist) needed to conduct her own exam. Feels like a scammy way to extract more money for the visit than insurance will cover. I left.

Came in to see if the ends of my (non lenscrafters brand) glasses could be bent, so they wouldn't fall when I look down. This service was free, and the redheaded male employee who helped me was so kind and welcoming. It felt like genuine kindness, not the customer service faux-kindness. Seeing how kindly I was treated despite not technically being a customer made me consider coming here to check out their glasses! I'm used to being persuaded to shop around in exchange for a free service, but i didn't feel like I was being sold anything. It was just a really nice interaction.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
