I recently visited AFC Urgent Care Hallandale Beach with my 6-month-old son, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing regarding clinical accuracy and thoroughness.
My son had been running a fever that peaked at 103.5°F. By the time we arrived at the facility, his temperature had dipped to 100°F due to a recent dose of Motrin, but we clearly communicated the high fever trend and our pediatrician’s concern regarding a possible ear infection.
While the facility was clean and the staff was professional, the medical consultation itself felt rushed and dismissive. Despite the high out-of-pocket expense, the doctor spent only about two minutes with us, concluding that the ears were "red but not yet infected" and suggesting we return in a few days.
Trusting my gut, I sought a second opinion immediately after. That provider confirmed a clear infection in the left ear and started him on antibiotics right away.
My Takeaway: If a clinic accepts infants as young as 6 months, they must be prepared to perform diligent pediatric screenings. Dismissing a symptomatic infant who had just come off a 103.5°F spike is a serious oversight. I would caution parents of young infants to be wary, as the diagnostic accuracy here did not meet the standard of care my son needed.

We found this care center in google search due to day being late Saturday and them having x-ray. We knew they were closing at 5pm we got there around 4:10pm. We were rushed at e wry step especially with money. Not sure if they felt we didn’t have money since we don’t have insurance but the treatment was as if we were going to escape without paying. I would have much rather give my credit card and get a final bill at the end of the visit with all service and treatment lined up. It was my child with a fractured arm I don’t care how much each thing is just treat it and give me a bill to pay. It was very embarrassing. We literally had to show the nurse our wallets to prove we have money! If you accept someone in that door at 4:10pm you must complete your services properly in timely manner. You can close the doors at 5pm for new comers but someone enters before that deserves the same treatment as of someone to come in at 10am in the morning. I truly felt uncomfortable.
I did not have an appointment but there were only a couple people ahead of me. My wait time was about 20 minutes but once I was called in, I was taken care of immediately and seen by the doctor soon after. My experience was beyond what I imagined. The clinic was clean, staff friendly and helpful, and I would definitely go back there if needed.
