I believe this may have been partly because English is not my first language, and partly because of the setup in the examination area. When I went in for my annual contact lens check-up, there wasn’t a mirror positioned at a reasonable height for me to insert my contact lenses comfortably. The only available mirror was placed on a counter without a chair, which made it difficult for me to see myself properly and put in my lenses. As I was taking a bit longer to insert them, the doctor seemed impatient and told me that I needed to hurry up because he had other patients waiting. His tone and attitude made me feel uncomfortable, as if he were doing me a favor rather than providing a service I was paying for. I wanted to bring this to your attention so that future visits can be more comfortable and respectful for all patients, especially those who may need a little extra time due to language or setup challenges.
