Blinking Owl Eye Care raises the bar in high quality care and examination…. With having a past experience with a detached retina, the optometrist was thorough, extremely knowledgeable, empathetic and professional in providing a comprehensive exam… My appointment was on Tuesday, February 24th, 2026…at 3:00 pm… I highly recommend “ Blinking Owl Eye Care “…. The administration is exceptional as well in welcoming and providing comfort, through the process of one’s eye exam…

I recently had an eye exam at Blinking Owl Eyecare and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Faten Edriskhalaf. When I arrived, the ladies at the front desk were incredibly kind and welcoming. They made me feel comfortable right away, and I truly appreciate their warmth and professionalism. However, my experience during the eye exam was the complete opposite. Dr. Edriskhalaf was very dry and did not ask about my medical background or any concerns I might have had. I had to be the one to bring up that I suffer from floaters (miodesopsias) and dry eye. There was little engagement or discussion about these issues. During the exam, the testing equipment appeared improperly positioned, and the lens I was asked to read through was dirty and smudged. At first, I thought my vision had significantly worsened because everything looked blurry while reading the letters. Only after I slightly adjusted myself did I realize the lens itself was smudged and dirty. The appointment ended abruptly. I was told the exam was ready and that I could leave, without any explanation of my prescription or discussion of results. When I asked directly what my prescription was, I was told I needed to step outside and that the staff would tell me. This was surprising and disappointing, discussing results and explaining changes should be part of the consultation with the doctor, not delegated entirely to the ladies from Lenscrafter that help you for the frames. When I later asked about my prescription, I was shocked to learn that one eye had changed from my usual -2.5 to -3.00. I understand prescriptions can change, but given the issues during the exam , especially the smudged lens, I left feeling uncertain about the accuracy of the results. There was no explanation provided to reassure me or discuss possible reasons for the change. Because I did not feel confident in the accuracy of the prescription, I decided not to proceed with purchasing the frames I had selected. My insurance covered this exam, and now I will need to schedule and pay for another one elsewhere, which means additional time and expense. Overall, this was a very disappointing and unprofessional experience. I would appreciate hearing back regarding how this situation can be addressed, as it directly impacted my trust and my decision not to complete my purchase.
