Posting my 83 year old Auntie’s experience at LENSCRAFTERS 8903 Glades Rd Bay A1-4, Boca Raton, FL 33434
I’ve had my eyes examined at this LENSCRAFTERS located at 8903 Glades Rd Bay A1-4 in Boca Raton, twice and this time it was the worst experience. My appointment time was at 2:15pm on 4/11/26 and I was walked to the back by one of the sales associates
As I got to the (optometrist) area where no one was at the desk. I waited for over 45 minutes before I received a text message saying I missed my appointment time but I was here and waiting. I’ve never been so embarrassed that I was left speechless as my sister was telling them that I have been waiting and not a single person was helpful until my sister got irritate and wanted us to leave and go to another location. Finally the optometrist herself came out and told me to hang tight and she’ll see me in 30 minutes because there was a gentleman waiting for his appointment. At first I was hesitant but what could I do but go along with it so I can get my exam and be finished with the whole ordeal. Needless to say I’m 83 years old and time is all I have at this point. Maybe this was my fault but this will be my last time at LENSCRAFTERS.

We had been to LensCrafters before, and honestly, our past experience with the staff wasn’t very good. However, we decided to give it one more try—and this time, I was truly surprised by the exceptional quality of service. It completely changed my impression of the store.
Because of this experience, I am now bringing my daughter, my husband, and my whole family—we will all become customers thanks to the attention and outstanding service provided by Maria. From start to finish, she did everything possible to meet my needs and made sure I was fully satisfied.
This is now a place that, thanks to Maria, has completely changed the way I see it. Thank you!

I want to caution others about my experience with Dr. Tamara Maule. My prescription was done incorrectly, and I ended up having several pairs of bifocal glasses made that were unusable. As I mentioned before, the issue was due to the inaccurate prescription.
When I tried to address this with Dr. Maule, I was repeatedly denied the opportunity to speak with her. I even went in person to schedule an appointment, waited for 30 minutes, and no one came out to assist me. I left a note requesting a call back, but no one ever followed up.
After a few days, I called again and was finally able to schedule another appointment. However, when I arrived, the doctor refused to speak with me. Instead of addressing my concerns, I was confronted in an unprofessional and aggressive manner by her assistant.
I made it clear that I did not want another exam—I simply wanted to speak with the doctor about the incorrect prescription. I also requested a refund, which was initially denied. Only after the situation escalated did the doctor come out and offer a refund, but by then, the experience had already been unacceptable.
Overall, this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I would strongly advise others to be cautious.

the optometrists/doctors are nice. they provide ok service for checking out the eyes and making sure everything is ok. the lenscrafter store itself and staff are a little pushy as they really want to try to sell you the most expensive frames and lenses they can, even when you do not need them.

The Optometrist Eye Doctor was my favorite. Very knowledgeable, professional and kind. He took the time to explain me how things work related with my eyes and my next glasses. He made a regular visit with an Eye Doctor a memorable experience in my life. Thank you for that. Then the lady who helped me with all the selection of my glasses, etc. was super nice, knowledgeable and patient. By the way, they have nice variety of frames as well as quality, brands and prices. Thank you so much all! Definitely I will come back.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
