The receptionist told me that the exam was $10 and if I wanted to check the back of the eye it was an additional $39. I declined and just wanted the standard eye exam. Fast forward to check out and my payment was $228 WHAT?? They charged me for a contact lens fitting fee, which I was told nothing about. What exactly did they do to justify the $179?? My prescription didn’t change and literally walked in with my own contacts to replace after the exam. The fee doesn’t bother me as much as not being upfront with that is what my payment was going to be. I would have delayed my appointment because I had to just order another 90 day prescription of contacts. I was upset and the receptionist insisted she told me essentially calling me a liar. I will not be coming back to this location and make sure that you know what you are paying for when you go in. Plus they charged me a 2.5% fee to use my debit card. I wish I would known that and I could have brought cash

In today’s world, charging patients extra to pay a medical bill is frustrating and feels like a pure cash grab. Healthcare is expensive enough already. This policy is the reason I will no longer be returning, and I would encourage others to ask about fees before committing to this office.
