Do I need to see an orthodontist to get my teeth straightened?
While orthodontists are specially qualified to provide some orthodontic treatments, Invisalign is an orthodontic option that can give you the same fantastic results as braces with supervision from your cosmetic dentist. Choose Invisalign to skip trips to the orthodontist and achieve a beautifully straight smile from a team focused on esthetics.
Can orthodontics improve my oral health?
While most people undergo orthodontics to fix cosmetic concerns, treatment can also improve your oral health. When your teeth are evenly spaced, you can brush and floss more thoroughly and prevent tooth decay. Furthermore, clear aligners will properly align your bite, helping you avoid serious and painful jaw conditions.
What makes someone a good candidate for Invisalign?
Invisalign works well for the majority of our New Haven patients with mild to moderate dental misalignment. What are the steps when receiving a dental crown?
First we will go through a consultation, then we will prep the tooth and take your impressions. After that a lab technician will work on the custom fabrication, and we will apply a temporary crown. After 1-2 weeks you will return to our office and we will place the permanent crown.
Does dental crown placement hurt?
No. Before your tooth is prepped, your dentist will numb the area to ensure you are completely comfortable during treatment. If at any point you feel any discomfort, let your dentist know so she can address the issue promptly. We want you to leave our office happy and be as comfortable as possible throughout your treatment.
How long do crowns last?
With proper care, crowns are a long-lasting dental solution. On average, a custom-made all-ceramic dental crown can last 10-15 years. You can extend the lifespan of your dental work with proper aftercare.
Does dental insurance fully cover dental crowns?
If you have dental insurance, it will likely cover at least a portion of the cost of your crown, if it is needed for health reasons. Our knowledgeable team will work with you and your insurer to make sure you maximize your benefits.
How do veneers work?
Dental veneers are thin shells made of tooth-colored materials. They are designed to mask cosmetic imperfections that affect the front surfaces of the teeth. A little bit of enamel (less than 1 millimeter) is removed so the veneer fits properly. Placing one dental veneer or many veneers can give your smile a makeover.
What problems can dental veneers treat?
