  I have written previous reviews, which I deleted. This company had the potential to provide excellent care. They have some excellent care givers. My situation is not the norm. So I deleted my previous reviews, as I would not want my particular situations to affect other's decisions regarding care. My main complaints with this company was that 1). their care givers always had me substantially late to post surgical appointments. The only reason I was seen at all at these appointments was because my surgeon agreed to see me. 2) A care giver snapped a photo of Medical records from a post surgical appointment, with the address listed for an upcoming CT scan on it. The CT scan was ordered after the surgeon knew for certain that my fusion had failed. I did not give permission for her to take this photo. 3) The most serious and concerning experience with a care giver occured 9 days after my cervical fusion surgery took place. A care giver struck me very hard on my right shoulder, with her right forearm, as she was putting her seatbelt over my upper back, & shoulder. She had also suddenly decided to take all of the back roads; claiming she was too afraid to drive on the highway. With the stress of last minute travel changes, I forgot my cervical collar, which I had out and ready for the trip. The care giver did not remind me. 4) And I do not understand why this agency never tried working out individual problems or issues with care givers. Whenever anything at all was mentioned to them about any care giver, to include those I was very satisfied with for the most part, the company took them off of my case, and then sent another care giver. Then they scheduled their last day of care giving the day before my CT scan. Strange, given that someone I know well told me that I was severely mishandled after surgery, because "those who had long harmed you could not bear to let you get well". Very traumatizing, serious, and disappointing experiences. If I thought my experiences were the norm with this company I would have left a lower rating. My rating of 4 stars is based upon the fact I feel this agency does have the potential to provide excellent care. Of course accountability is important. I wish everyone All the Best with their disabilities for patients, and in their care giving profession for care givers. May we ALL work together to make things better for one another. 🙏🔥💥

  We have used Home Instead to care for our mother for a few years, until a recent change in her needs. Home Instead is well run and the home health aids are the best. Anytime a "stranger" comes into the house of an elderly person, there is concern and anxiety. The coordinator, office team and aids quickly became known as friends and did a great job taking care of mom, from the basics to proactively discussing changing dynamics and how best to approach. I would recommend using Home Instead for a range of home health care needs.

  I used Home Instead over 20 years ago when I owned a Home Care agency in San Francisco and would refer clients to Home Instead when I was unable to staff a 24-hour care situation. In 2025, I needed a Home Care agency in Connecticut for my elderly father. We had 24-hour care until he passed away in October 2025 and all the caregivers were extremely helpful. Kudos to Mandy (Home Instead Manager) for all her help and her thoughtfulness.

  We have been working with Home Instead since September, 2024. Before that, I researched the options but needed to wait for Mom to feel ready. Our need was for companionship. Mom is healthy but lonely during the week. Most of us live and work within an hour of her, I live 5+ hours away. It was stressful to see her alone. As summer was ending, we were able to discuss the idea of getting help. Once Mom agreed, the response from the Middletown office was immediate, visiting her home, learning her routine and creating a workable, affordable schedule. Matching Mom with a caregiver happened simply. As Mom was still getting used to the idea of having someone in her home, the office sent one, then one more - and they hit it off! A year into this relationship now, and we’ve been relieved and satisfied because Mom is happy. The structure of knowing “G” will be coming MWF has added new energy and excitement. They make plans to visit farmers markets, Trader Joe’s or she asks “G” to help with other errands. We have seen cognitive improvements because of their time together and are so thankful for this help. Communication is simple and my distance is never an issue. Mom & “G” have become friends, with a bond growing stronger every day. We are so grateful for this connection which will continue indefinitely.

  The care they give the elders.It's what it's supposed to be. Patient. I'm carrying understanding. I wish this place had its own facility. I would move my father today for them take care of him and not have a worry in the world. They always call.I want to keep it informed. Camerons a great caretaker thank you
