WOW. Rudest lab tech woman EVER. I don't know her name because she didn't introduce herself and had no nametag on. How in the world does she have a job like this??? I had an appointment. When this lady finally came out, she said she had to do her normal work so I would have to wait because her job is "more than just taking blood". The low reviews for this location make complete sense. I am not scared of needles at all, but I was nervous as heck in there with this woman!! Goodness Gracious!!

I haven't had this issue with Quest in the past, however I had a bad experience at this location. The tech working when I dropped in, Launie, refused to work with me. She stated that they don't do walk-ins, even though the signs in the facility, their website, and check-in software indicate they do. After addressing this, she cleaned her area, followed by a trip to the bathroom. After more free time elapsed, she stated there was a late appointment she was waiting for so couldn't fit me in.

Awful experience. My medical provider ordered lab tests for a chronic medical condition. I arrived to my Quest appointment early to receive a price quote with my insurance coverage (this is what I was told to do when I called the Quest national number ahead of time to get a quote). At the appt. the technician told me I could not get a quote, she could only tell me what tests were covered, what were not, and the uncovered amount which was over $400. I told her I could not afford that and told her thanks. I left the lab and stepped out into the Safeway to make a call to my medical provider, and after discussing the situation, we agreed I would go back in and just do the tests insurance would cover and we would figure out a lower cost way to have the other two tests done. So I went back into the lab, with 5 minutes left of my appointment time, and the technician did not have any patients in their room nor in the waiting area. I asked if she could draw my blood for the tests insurance would cover and she said no. At this point it was 10:10 am and I had been fasting for these tests, and I kindly asked again, in tears, if she could draw my blood. She said no, she was booked all day, and patients would be coming in.
I only happened to get this appointment the prior week because there was a cancellation. Otherwise this Quest has no appts. available for at least this week for fasting lab work. I also took time off of work to have this done, and now I will have to take more time off, once I find a place with available times, delaying the test results that I need for health issues I am currently experiencing. On top of this, the patient before me was having trouble with her insurance coverage for a vaccine she needed, and the technician told her she could come back later to be fit in once she received a doctor’s order. I don’t know why she could not empathize with me and help me out the way she was helping the other person, I was kind and courteous to her and needed some grace. She could have done it with 5 minutes left but chose not to.
After I left, I looked at other Quests in the area and none of them have appointments available for fasting lab work for at least two weeks. Not that Quest Diagnostics really cares, but I will never go there, again, if I have another choice. Never been treated this poorly at Lab Corp and Lab Corp always provides a price quote before they draw your blood. I know medical providers are booked and stressed, but this situation should not have happened. That technician should assume every patient in there needs lab work for a medical reason, and that delaying that bloodwork could be bad for their health. It’s not like I did not plan accordingly or showed up late, I arrived 15 minutes early and had 5 minutes to spare to have the lab work completed. She already had my doctor’s order and insurance in the system. Unbelievable.

I was sent to this location as it was the closest to where I live. Unfortunately, they did not have the proper equipment to complete my test. It would have been nice to receive a phone call before I drove 30 minutes and became anxious due to the blood draw. I mentioned that to the tech and stated that they should be checking that they have everything and the proper equipment they need before a person walks in their doors. The tech told me that that's against HIPAA violations. Which is not true. I called the organization that sent me to that test location and they agreed that it was not a HIPAA violation and agreed the tech should had looked ahead of time to see if they had the proper equipment to run my specific test. The tech was rude and short with me, and did not understand why I was frustrated. I explained to her that blood draw makes me anxious She shrugged it off like it should br no big deal. This was a very frustrating experience and I left without my test. I had to call the organization to then wait for it to be rescheduled at a different location where they're able to check and see if they have the right equipment. Never use" it's a HIPAA violation" with HR person. We know the laws too.

The phlebotomist was great! But the exam room was freezing cold. I had to leave my coat on until the blood draw, and my hands were very cold after just 10 minutes there. Safeway/Quest needs to fix the heat/ac situation here both for patient and employee comfort. I don’t know how the phlebotomist works all day in such a cold environment.

Scheduled appointments are strongly encouraged and will receive priority. If you walk in, you will have to wait for the next available opening.
Should I be fasting?
Fasting before a blood draw means you don’t eat or drink anything except water. If your test requires it, don't forget to fast for 8-12 hours before your appointment. If you’re not sure, contact your doctor's office. To learn more about how to prepare for your test, visit QuestDiagnostics.com/patients/get-tested/prepare/fasting for additional fasting information.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please arrive and check in 10 minutes before your appointment time. If you check in more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, you will be served as a walk-in.
You should bring the following to your appointment:
•A lab order from your doctor. If your doctor did not give you a paper order, check with them to see if they sent it electronically.
•Photo identification listing your first name, last name, and date of birth (for example, a driver's license, government issued photo ID, Passport, or Green Card).
•Current health insurance information.
•Credit, debit, or health savings card. You will be asked to preauthorize payment for any balance due after your insurance is billed.
It’s important to also know if your test requires fasting the day before and/or morning of your appointment. Your healthcare provider should have indicated this on your lab order or during your visit. Learn more about fasting before a lab test.
Note: Childcare is not available and the waiting area is not attended. Some testing protocols, such as drug screenings or pre-employment screenings, have strict rules which do not allow children to accompany the patient during sample collection. If you have questions about your testing protocols, please contact your healthcare professional or employer for additional information.
How do I check in when I arrive?
Sign in using the Check-in kiosk, or if not available, sign the clipboard at the front desk. Please be prepared to present a valid photo ID and insurance information. Be sure to mark the reason for your visit when signing in.
If you were unable to preregister ahead of time, and would like to do so, you may be able to complete the registration process if you arrive a few minutes early at a Quest Patient Service Center that has a Check-in kiosk. When you check in with your mobile number, you may be asked if you want to complete the registration process on your smartphone while you wait.
My doctor told me they would send over an order. Do you have it?
If your doctor said they would send us the order electronically or via fax, there is no need to confirm that we have the order. If we do not have the order, we will call the doctor to obtain it when you arrive at our Quest Patient Service Center. To prevent delays, be sure to visit our location during your doctor’s office hours or obtain a copy of your order from your doctor.
How soon after my visit will my doctor receive my lab test results?
Turnaround times for test results can vary. If you have a MyQuest account, your test results will be delivered to your account as soon as they are available. This can take 2-5 business days from the time the sample is received, depending on your test.
You should always follow up with your doctor to discuss your results.
