- LBLouis BrewerFeb 11, 20261.0My elderly 79yo handicapped Mom has a chair from this company and they are not very responsive when we have had issues with her chair! We have had several and the last one (this Fall) took over 6 weeks to get resolved! Now we have a new issue as of last Thursday afternoon. Mom's chair stopped working and we had to transfer her to our old backup chair. I texted the local technician and he told me the same thing they always say to do (we had actually already done before texting) and it didn't work. So I texted the technician and told him that and I haven't heard anything back from him! I have now texted 3 or 4 times with no response! We are very frustrated š with this chair and the lack of customer service!

Had to drive 4 hrs each way and spend a 100 dollars n deisel 2 talk 2 a person no one would return my calls. I got a call thur said the part was in. They would b here Monday 2 install. I left 4 messages since Friday to verify they were coming. No return call. I canceled my drs apt so I could b here. Finally got a hold of Christina this am they decided to come Tues instead without notifying me. This business is a mess they do not understand what communication means. Please don't put yourself through this

To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?

Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because itās not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to āgrow with the childā
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
